Okay be prepared for a wall of text.

I have an Emance consult cable and the consult program to use with it. We had originally used that to check my TPS voltage, timing, etc. Well the car ran okay until it warmed up (oil temp around 180) then it would jump around 2-300 rpm at idle and it would just stop "going" after 4k, it would rev past that but it had no power whatsoever and the consult showed the timing dropping to 13-14 at idle.

About a week ago i hooked the laptop up and adjusted the timing to 20 while it was warm and adjusted the TPS to .46 (comp said it was at .38) car idled great but was almost undrivable, it would drive through the neighborhood fine but getting out onto the highway was a pain, the timing would drop to 10 or so when i tried to accelerate. Go home and start staring at it, dad gets home and we adjust everything the way we should have to begin with, timing light and voltmeter, tps unplugged and motor warm. Timing is at the very last mark which is from everywhere that i have read 20.

Timing stays right at 20 with and without the tps plugged in.Now idle is at 900-1k and no matter how much we turn the IACV closed or open the idle does not change, so maybe its dirty? If so that is quite strange considering it has been disassembled and cleaned already and the intake manifold is still almost spotless inside. Only other thing i would think to mention is maybe the knock sensor, the consult keeps giving me the "55" code for the knock sensor, even though the thing is less than a year old and I have no CEL.

So in a wrap up, Base timing is right, TPS voltage is right, no CEL, knock sensor code, high idle

Once again I know this is a huge wall of text but I am at a loss
