i just read an article on MSN about a guy who went missing in 1994 in Lake Tahoe and was just found a few days ago and his body hadnt decomposed. in the article they talk about a legend that bodies that go into the lake, never come back up. in fact it is said that there are thousands of bodies suspended in the water about 1000ft down(the lake is 1600ft at the deepest). they have not decomposed or rotted in anyway. the Mafia that hung out in Tahoe used to kill people and dispose of the bodies in the lake because they never came back up.

Stuff like this really interests me. anyone have any other weird or crazy urban legends?

Sweet thread idea I love urban legends too. These two "urban legends" come to mind when I think of Maryland: http://kittythedreamer.hubpages.com/hub/Goatman-and-Crybaby-Bridge-Two-Creepy-Maryland-Legends

But they both suck...

There is a park here in Annandale, Va called roundtree Park.

Ghost Hunt at Roundtree Park in Falls Church - Northern Virginia Spirit Group (Woodbridge, VA) - Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/novasg/events/5900250/?action=detail&eventId=5900250)

Theres a bunch here on this side of VA alone, since I live across the street from Mount Vernon Estate.

I wonder how many states have something like this. Growing up in New Jersey, I remember hearing stories about the Jersey Devil and Jimmy Hoffa being buried under Giants stadium or the Turnpike somewhere.

if anyone is from socal, more specifically oc, theres a haunted house on euclid and hazard i believe. its in garden grove. google it, and u will find a few stories. funny thing is, you can see it from the main road. i drive by it all the time and break my neck looking at it. curtains always shut, but with flowers on the window sill from the real estate agent. never seen people actually live in there. ive heard that anyone who sleeps in the house wakes up outside, and dont know how they got there. neighbors also get flickering lights and water faucets turning on by themself, but i guess its not too bad for them to move out. theres a bunch more, but u can google it if youre really interested. its trippy because almost everyone in the area knows some variation of the same stories. its been in local papers and stuff too. thats one of the more legit urban legends from my area.
