So, I desperately need a new phone, i fucking hate my blackberry.

I am going to try to snag a new phone within the next month, and am looking at the HTC Evo 4G, but honestly havent heard great stuff about HTC.

I also heard a rumor about Sprint possibly picking up the iPhone in the near future, and I dont want to buy a new phone and then have the iPhone come out just a month or so later.

So what do you guys know about Sprint getting the iPhone? Or what else is coming out soon that I should wait for? and how awesome is it gonna be?

This is for Sprint only, Im on a family plan, and wont be switching, not an option.

I haven't heard anything, but I would assume that it would come along with the iPhone 5 and/or the iPhone 4S. I hope for your sake you can get one instead of the Blackberry, haha.

If you keep waiting for the next best thing, you're never going to buy anything. New shit comes out every week.

There are plenty of good phones out on the market right now.

The Evo 3D and Nexus S come to mind on Sprint. The Photon is confirmed to be released shortly as well.

The iPhone rumors for Sprint are just that, rumors.

My advice is to just go to a Sprint store, and look at what they've got. Try out all the phones, and pick the one that fits into your budget and preferences the best.

Well yea, Im looking at the Evo 4G and 4g 3d now, but I'd rather have the iPhone. I'm just hoping someone has some industry inside information. lol

Just buy a 3GS, and unlock it with unltrasn0w. Wallah iPhone for sprint. Still don't like it afterwards? eBay 300$ easy. I'm pro apple, I have a iPad and 4 iPhones. I don't like androids and I don't like HTC's. Androids have a better marketplace, yes, but a iPhone is a iPhone simple as that. You can buy one for cheap, unlock it and double your money in a day. Can't do that with ant other phone, can't buy a droid for 200$ root it and sell it for 500 like you can a iPhone.

iphone is a rumor, nothing solid

HTC is my favorite brand to sell, I never had any major issues like I have had with samsung and motorola (both have their fair share of crazy software glitches)

get the 3d phone, turn off 4g until you want to watch a video and battery will be good.

Well its really hard to say. HTC does actually make a good phone. Personally if you are really into Iphone's at this point I would wait.

Reason? The next Iphone is slated to come out sometime in September. Do not listen to the Pro Android people on the forum. Most of them will either hate or not want an Iphone and one of them actually works for Google, sorry no offense guys, but that is a bias.

Apple has no exclusive contracts anymore in the U.S. They can make and sell to anyone they want to if the carrier wants the product. This is up to the carriers not Apple. It would actually make perfect sense for Apple at this time to be selling on all major carriers.
Plus Penta band chips are available to make this happen easily.

Given all of that, if you can hold out till for another month then I think you should. You seem to be pretty down for an Iphone.

I own an Android, I have used many Androids, there are things about Android I like. Though I am a Mac person and yes I do want the new Iphone coming out, if it is available on my carrier.

If it is not I will probably get another Android and the battle lines there are drawn between HTC Sensation and the Samsung Galaxy SII.

Oh and I will not go to a Non GSM carrier because I don't like the idea of not being about to check the web while carrying on a conversation. (which I can and have done on GSM smartphones)

CDMA's biggest drawback is that.

I would wait. The iPhone will come out to Sprint and if it doesn't, there's the Samsung Galaxy S 2 that is slated for September.

Oh I should add LTE when it is available and on many phones should fix the surf the web and call at the same time issue with CDMA. Problem is, its only on limited phones on Verizon. It's none existent on Sprint ( Wimax) and its a pipe dream at AT&T.
T-Mobile? Ah don't even want to discuss that whole issue.

Plus GSM is world until the rest of the world gets on board the LTE train which at this point is a long way off.

Hold out to see what happens next month.

I'm pretty sure this won't work.

3GS was only launched on AT&T and other GSM carriers. Sprint uses CDMA, a completely different technology.

You'd be better off buying a Verizon iPhone 4, and trying to unlock that since Verizon also uses CDMA. Google around and see if someone has done this, I've only ever dealt w/ GSM.

Good luck.

It's very very tricky to get a Sprint phone to work on VZW and vice-versa. So buying a VZW iPhone 4 and trying to make it work on Sprint is a waste of time and money.

BlackZenkiS14 - Hold off until September, the second week is rumored to have a nice release of phones for Sprint (and VZW for others reading this).

+1million to that.

If you're looking for inside info on an iPhone release for Sprint, you probably won't find much on that here at Zilvia.

Dual-Core phones are the future.

That is all.

You actually won't find much of it anywhere. Apple is very good about not letting their product info out before release when they want to be. As far as carriers go I can pretty much accurately say any Iphone release on a new carrier is not going to be anywhere on the carriers roadmap for devices for that year. It would totally take away from the element of surprise Apple so enjoys seeing the consumer have.

So T Mobile or Sprint high chance they could get the Iphone, no chance its going to be on their roadmaps though.

Which brings me back to my original point, you should just buy what you works for you. Go into a Sprint store and quit wasting time. Who cares about what MIGHT be coming out in two months?

Get the new motorola phone with Tegra2, came out like a week ago. And it's already been rooted.
