Coupes or Fastbacks?...very contraversial, may have been covered

Ok, this may have been covered b4, but i wanna see everyones opinion.
i dont want to see which car is better, cuz everyone knows coupes are the ish!
but what i want to see is everyones opinion on which car they like better. :D

being a great car is priority #2 for me. #1 is being able to haul all of my bass equipment with it - including my upright bass.

fastback just has more classic lines.. almost jaguar esque. The shape is what originally got me into 240z's.

I am split. The hatch looks good with the 180sx styled tails while the coupe looks good with the front conversion. I have the coupe but am looking into buying the hatch version as well.

I say coupe because I literally see at least 5 fastbacks a day and maybe 1 coupe a week.

IMO, the coupe is more of a modern hatch look, the old Z's are amazingly beautiful, especially for their age, and the 240SX hatch is nothing like them.

Hatchback(or fastback) is one of the biggest ones ! I absolutely LOVE the way the fastback S13 looks........to me its pointless to buy an S13 w/o getting the Fastback ! I've got a big ass infinity sub,stiffening cap,and bazooka amp and I still can carry most of my stuff too........although I do miss folding down the backseat w/my girlfreind...:mad: ......the things I must sacrifice for a nice stereo!

I love the hatchback,extremely passionate about it !

I think that coupes don't look right...too long of a night for the designers and too little coffee man,I don't think that thing looks right,to me its pointless to get an S13 w/o getting the FB

I don't want to offend anybody that owns a coupe,thats just my opinion.

I like the coupes. I have never been a fan of any fastback. They don't serve that much more utility than a coupe as far as I can tell. If you are driving it for performance, you don't need to carry crap anyway. Pointless. BTW this car was origionally marketed to women... not as race cars.

fastbacks rule. They have such an everlasting style to them. The coupe looks like a Stanza. Fastbacks were ahead of their time when they were made, reason why they sold so long in japan.

hey, i didnt like the s13 until i relized you can retrofit the front end for the coupe(long ago).
there is something about the rear side windows and C-pillars that just looks georgeous.
It also can look like an ugly-duck if done wrong, uglier than most cars are capable of: a very fine line........i like that!

Hey now, watch what you say about my first two cars. They do look a lot like the S13 FB tho, and no, I wouldn't say they're anywhere near the car that the 240SX is. Coupe all the way IMO.

FB w/ Kouki tails-- 10/10
Coupe w/silvia front-- 10/10

The fastbacks to me have a more modern look (nice set of dt05r and kouki tails)
The coupes look more old school (sweet set of deep dish 15" meshies and silvia front)

Coupes have been growing on me though, I'm thinking about picking one up as a second car (if I can find one).

As for seeing fastbacks more than coupes, I don't ever see either one. I have the only 240 in my area that I know of.

Fastback. I love the lines of the car. I've wanted one ever since I was a sophmore in high school (circa 2001). I'm on my second one now. Before I got my first one, I turned down 2 coupes, both with blown motors, zero rust and body/interior damage (except for the customary driver's seat rip on the left bolster), and costing less than $700 each. I wanted a fastback with a Silvia (S13) front end, and now I do!

And yes, I admit the fb looks like a Probe, but I'd rather it look like that then a 3rd gen. Prelude.

Why don't you guys do the stanza projector headlight conversion. Keep it fresh! haha coupes look like the preludes... I ain't hating, I think two tone coupes are awesome, but I still like the kouki 180sx more over the coupes. Isn't popularity a reason the hatch style kept its production run till ~98'? Hands down baby, cannot beat Statistics.

Coupes are only winning because coupe lovers feel less love so they come out in force, hahhahha. Fastback owners are more prevalant and there are more Fastback lovers. Coupe owners push the fact that they love the coupe because they have to. J/K but probably true hehehhehhehehe

Asthetics aside, the fastback is more practical for reasons stated above. It's also easier to work on the rear end of a fastback because things are more exposed.

The coupe is lighter and less flimsy. Some will argue that the trunk is more practical because it's a separate compartment

Pick your poison. I prefer the fastback because I do a lot of my own work, and having the extra space to haul junk is useful as well.

Does it matter? I don't know about you, but while i'm sitting inside the car driving, i can't see much of the rear end of the car so the body style doesn't make a difference for me.

I am definitely going for the Fastback..like someone else said, its what initially drew my attention to the 240sx. The coupe lines are not as clean, its now "trendy" to have one, and kouki tails>red/clears
