Hey guys, just trying to sell my previous daily-driver vehicle. 1989 Honda Accord DX Hatchback.
This car is a PERFECT opportunity for anyone who is looking for a reliable "commuter" vehicle, or for a "first time" buyer, student, etc.
It is a running, driving car, with NO mechanical issues. It's 5-speed w/ a brand new clutch, working A/C, a nice stereo, and gets 25-35+ MPG. What more could you want in a reliable daily-driver???
I am only the SECOND owner of this vehicle. My uncle was in fact the FIRST owner. I've been driving it for the last 6 years. This car has been a family possesion that has always been VERY well taken care of.
The ONLY reason I am even selling the car is because I needed a larger vehicle to support my growing family.
In November 2010, I went to a repair shop saying "I want anything and EVERYTHING fixed." I ended up spending $1,600 fixing every conceivable mechanical issue with the car. Anything from replacing the entire power steering rack, brake booster, new clutch, head gasket, and more. I still have that receipt to prove it. A/C has been recharged and blows nice and cold. I even have a spare carburetor as well, that I will include for FREE.
The car gets an EASY 25-35 miles per gallon, no matter HOW you drive it. Around the city, I average 350 miles per fill-up. On 100% highway drives, I average closer to 450 miles per fill-up. This car runs on fumes, I tell you!
The car will come with an Alpine stereo w/ iPod cable as well as (4) Infinity 6.5" speakers and a Rockford Fosgate 8" subwoofer/amplifier combination, already installed and in perfect working condition. The stereo is MORE than than adequate for this vehicle, and has served me quite well over the years.
I will also have a full alignment performed AND have the brakes checked/replaced one last time BEFORE the car is actually sold. I will pay for that out of my own pocket. This way you KNOW you're getting a car that is ready to go the moment you drive away in it.
The only thing even "wrong" with the car, is some damage on the rear passenger-side of the vehicle, from a small car car accident in May 2011.
The passenger-side door DOES still open, and the window operates fine. The damage IS repairable if you choose to, and the frame is NOT damaged.
Besides the damage from the accident, there are NO other note-worthy dents or dings. The ORIGINAL paint is in great condition for a 1989. The interior is exceptional as well. The fabric on the driver's side bolster is torn a bit, but the seat itself is still comfortable. Simple seat covers will fix that. The only thing I might suggest is replacing the windshield down the road. It just has a few chips in it. No crazy "spider-web" cracks or anything like that, though.
