Ok searched NICO, 240SX FORUMS, NWN FORUMS, & OTHER 240 RELATED FORUMS BUT STILL NOT QUITE SURE?
OK so I have 93 SE HATCH w/ ACTIVE SPEAKER SYSTEM
My Car came with no radio & the OEM Factory radio plug was cut already & I picked a KENWOOD KDC-135 Headunit & wired it up
I wired it up exactly how they specify on the S13 Factory Radio Diagram
& everything is wired up & it has power it turns on & everything EXCEPT NO SOUND!
The only wires that are left on the Factory Wire Harness side are a VIOLET, LIGHT GREEN & BLACK WITH RED STRIPE If those are important please lmk!
BUT I HAVNT BYPASSED THE REAR OEM AMP BUT IDK IF THAT IS GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM?
& DONT WANT TO RUN EACH WIRE TO THE HEADUNIT EITHER!
PLEASE HELP!

Constant 12V+ Red/Black
Switched 12V+ Blue
Ground Chassis (there is no ground in the harness you just need to ground to any peice of metal in the dash)
Illumination Red/Blue
Dimmer Red/Yellow
Antenna Trigger Black/Red (only one you need to worry about)
Front Speakers 4" x 6" Doors
Left Front (+) Blue/White
Left Front (-) Blue/Yellow
Right Front (+) Brown
Right Front (-) Brown/White
Rear Speakers 6 1/2" Rear Deck
Left Rear (+) Red
Left Rear (-) Green
Right Rear (+) Blue
Right Rear (-) Pink
Looks good.
Except I would suggest that you bypass all the factory amps, and run your own speaker wire to each speaker.

I dont want to run each wire to the Headunit
well good luck finding your problem then. It sounds much better anyway and takes a total of 15 minutes.
But suit yourself.

I can most definite agree with that. Its easy just do it man you will be happy about it after. being lazy and owning a s chassis just doesn't go together.

Ok so i wired up it to the the link above & i finally got sound but only in the Front? ima bypass the rear amp & see how that goes
I mean its like 8 bucks for a 20 foot roll of 12-14 gauge wire. and 8 shielded butt connectors.
I just dont understand why people dont do simple shit to improve their cars. The factory amps suck ass and dont put out more than your deck will anyway because the factory speakers are rated at like 50 watts anyway.

and factory speakers in a s13 were complete shit card board cups that couldn't handle jack shit.
Thats what im saying the factory speakers were rated at lik 40-50 watts or some shit. Most decks these days put out at least 45w x4

You DO know you can bypass the amps, replace the speakers and head unit, and NOT have to run all new wiring, don't you guys? The head unit sends a signal to each amp, color coded to whats on the radio harness. Unplug the amp, and use the speaker wires coordinated to what you're using behind the radio, needs a few inches of wire added inside each door and maybe a foot from the amp under the rear deck. Quick and easy.
Yes but that sounds as quick and easy as putting in bigger gauge SPEAKER wire and getting the best sound possible instead of using the shitty 20g copper wire in the harness.
I mean if your gonna be adding wire and all that anyway, why not just do it right the first time. Since when is improving your car about the easiest way out?

I did it this way & it sounds Perfect & pretty loud for stock speakers & didnt have to go out my way to get extra wire & run though the car :fawk:
