Idea never solidified few months ago.

I still want to have a Gran Turismo championship meet, something to keep us busy till gt4 comes out. I have a ps2 and tv, i suggest someone with a link joins in so we can play on seperate tvs. As far as a place to do it goes we can do it at my apt but it is tiny. I suggest a small bbq also- any other suggestions?

It's going to be a while before gt4 comes out :( But I like the idea of a Grand Turismo tournaments. Maybe I'll start one here in Nor Cal and then the best champions of Nor and So. Cal will have a best of the best showdown in the middle of the California desert (or around bakersfeild):p Well.. maybe we don't have to go that far, but if any Nor Calers like the idea of regional tournaments, lemme know ;)

dam, to bad I'm on the opposite coast. I'll out drift ya and out grip race ya! MUHAHA... dam always wanted to i.link ps2's and play GT3 on it, but drifting style like how Team Orange does it. So far me and my cousin drift race duo style side by side. Of course nothing beats drifting in real life. WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! the adrenalines' pumping already!

Sucks that GT4 won't be coming out till 2004, hopefully in Jan or Feb (crosses fingers) but when it does, I'm already planning on having drift tornements, anyone know whats the max limit for racing online on GT4, not sure if they announced it yet.

If you guys get something going I'll be there. You'll have to make it real organized with limits based on power to weight ratios. You will have to make rules about tapping people and all that good stuff. If you can organize a real serious tournament, I'll participate for sure. We can even have like a $2-5 entrance fee and the winner collects all the money in the end. Now that would motivate people.

Its not like that really. It would be a general gran turismo meet- you dont have to be super good, im sure some of us will suck and some of us will be just bad a$$...but all skill levels are invited, shit im not that great i just love the game. thats what its more about. the entrance fee "pot" idea i like, also a bbq would be nice. We need a big living room w/ space for two tvs and like 10-15 ppl, someone with a ps2 link, and a bbq...

heh, just a thought but isn't since that all Evo's are Awd...if you almost or are spinning out from drifting or losing control...you can easily gain control back cuz it can use its front wheel to correct...?................so wouldn't that...........be.........a noobie's car to drift in Gran turismo? Heh try drifting in a car that has wack azz handling......like the cobra.. then I'll bowdown. MUHAHA.

Anyway, what power rating is the Viper and Evo set at since you use it for drifting. So far I can only master a car with so much power is the Supra RZ with 600-620 bhp for drifting, like Seattle Circuit and Special Stage R11. But hey if its low level hp or mid range, anyone can do it. I taught my 13 year old cousin how to drift in grand turismo with the Chaser set at 500hp and Vette at 5?? and he doesn't even understand how a car can drift in the game, he just know's how to set it up and keep the drift going. Hopefully I can upload a demo of me and him drifting side by side and "follow the leader". Hmmm...just wish I had more time and he was a lil taller so I can get him to drift in real life in a real car........that'll be some sh!t.

Yes basically the EVO is pretty n00bish. No throttle control is required, just slam on the gas. Mine is set up to get sideways and stay that way, making it a little difficult to drive normally. You will not be able to 'chuki dori' or whatever it's called, once you get the slide angle right, just a bit of counter steering while you have your foot mashed on the gas will make for a very smokey, perpedicular-ish slide that will last very long. All for show of course. The car is at 400+ hp if i remember correctly. I dont have a PS2 or mem card on me.

I think my Viper is at 800+ hp and is set up for grip.

haha aww dam, thought the viper was setup for drifting. Cuz earlier I got bored and started messing with just about all the RWD cars on gran turismo to see if I could control it drifting, and whatta ya know, I made a drifting viper lol. Its hard to keep the car still after doing a long smokey drift on a long curve to straight roads. Dam........talking like its real life... lol. oh well. I mean GT3 is a driving simulator so with a my logitech steering wheel, it is almost life like. except for the no clutch thing. :(. Well drifting with a big ol Mercedes CLK55 AMG is halirious. Hell I've even used the same setups for RWD cars for FF cars, and made them drift...using the handbrake to lose traction of course.... hahha I gotta upload the demo of me drifting with a Volkswagen Beetle.:p

I think it's better if you have 8 lcdscreens mounted on your ps2. A USB Hub that connects at least 6 or more. And 8 wires from USB to i.link. Thats GT3 Arcade right there. The only bad thing about it is that you dont get to use your memory card. and Grip racing is the only fun thing to do against a number of friends.
