I'm doing a manual swap on a 97 se. I have a friend who has a 91 hatch that has a 5 speed that he is parting out. He offered to sell it to me with transmission for pretty cheap. Should I get the whole car to save trouble looking for parts? If i bought just a tranny from someone else i'd have to round up missing crap. also do i need another driveshaft from an s14? i'm assuming i do. if you guys could tell me what else i would need to get to make the s13 tranny go into the s14. thanks.

IIRC, with the S14 swap you're supposed to also swap the ECU.
IIRC the s13 (OBDI) ECU won't work well with your s14 (OBDII) engine.

Then in the end you're still stuck with a parts car that you can't use almost any of the parts from.

alright so i should be looking for an s14 transmission then? obd II sucks so much all the time. too many wires. yeah the ecu is no problem i can get one for a manual car pretty easily but now i gots to be finding a transmission. and i'm off! thanks.
