You should really do some research of your own, this topic has been covered numerous times.

If you have a budget, rule out the JZ and RB swap.

Sr swaps are pretty cheap / easy.

budget will determine alot of what you can/could do.

i vote JZ if you have $5000+

Just visit my 240SX guide, read up a bit online and try to ask some locals so you can see / experience them in person. Then make a decision as to which one you can afford and the one that fits your needs.

^that's a very informative site! I learned a bunch of general 240 history just browsing a few pages. Cause I had similar questions as the OP about swaps and the different series motors.

watch youtube..and decide. 2jz is almost just as expensive as ls1.. rb20s are cheap as SR.. 25 and up more money.

Do a Gallo 22, unless you're baller and can afford a 24.

slap a turbo on a stock KA GOO DO IT,

but in all seriousness google would of helped.

Whats your application?
Whats your horsepower goal?
What is your budget?
Do you think it is do-able?

ask yourself that first because people are gonna give you different opinions about your car,
DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO, BUT USE US AS A LAST ALTERNATIVE.

if budget is a problem,..sr

...if you have slightly flexible budget,.. rb

.....if you want to spend some grip, and do it once and be done,....jz

if you want more time to think about it, buy another ka

Just throwing this out there, hopefully it helps him out since I'm in the same boat.

I'm going with: RB25/5speed
Power goals: 400+/- w/o building the motor
Budget: none, I've got two jobs. One is for bills, one if for fun. So whenever the car is finished. Well thats when I'll find out what the budget was.

Also, there are local guys one with a rb25 s14 stock turbo/tune, the other with a rb25 s13 with upgraded turbo making around what I'd like to be putting down. I've ridden in both cars, and I definitely want mine to be on the same level as the s13. He constantly beats on it, and hasn't had one problem with the motor or the "weak" ring lands I keep reading about.

Swap back in a stock KA. Go about your business. There isn't anywhere to drive in hawaii.
