I have a 89 Nissan 240SX with a Auto KA24E. My car will not start and here is what I found but need some advice of what I need. I also ran codes and got a 45 and 11 (leaky injector and camshaft position sensor)

1. Car sometimes won't even crank and does not turn over. No Spark
2. Car is getting fuel when it does crank (We removed a fuel hose to see if the pump was flowing fuel when we tried to start the car)
3. Sparks are not getting any juice. (We removed one of the plugs and touch it against metal to see if there was any spark, and there was not)
4. Car just ran a week ago but cuts off when the car warms up. It doesn't spike but just bogs and cuts off.

Here are somethings I replaced and thinking may need to be replaced.

I replaced the distributor and Coil.

Things I think I need to replace:
ECU
Engine Harness
Starter

Any input would help

Here are pictures of my starter. For some reason there are positive and negative wires coming off of the starter. Should those wires even be there? I am not sure where the red (hot) wire goes to.

aren't people on this forum so helpful? no responses almost a month later...That redwire coming from the starter isn't on mine, there should just be one wire on each post of the starter, one going to the + lead on the battery and other to ground it.

My car has a similar problem, will sometimes not crank, just a mechanical clunk, sounds like the starter turns but not with enough force and just hits a tooth on the flywheel and stops or something. Could possibly be a fuse or relay.

like i said my car does the same thing and I have a new starter and battery. Hope that helps you narrow it down. I have also heard people having trouble with the clutch safety switch located under the pedal...some people fix it by taping a penny on the pedal where it would contact the switch and it works. Hope that helps...you won't get to much help on this forum it sucks and is full of dickheads
