s13 Shaved 3rd brake light...options

Just purchased a repaired rear hatch with a shaved 3rd brake light for my s13. But i still want to rig up a 3rd brake light so i dont get rear ended or pulled over...etc

How did you guys mount the 3rd brake light behind the glass? Was the "flash back" from the light pretty bad? Just looking for different options. (Any pics would be nice)

Also....my newly purchased rear hatch have no wiring at all....can anybody help me ID and locate the wires on the body side? (3rd brake light + defroster)
