Ever since I got my car last summer, it has had a rough 1st start of the day, or until it runs for a few minutes. It takes 2-2 1/2 seconds to start. After it has run for 5-10 minutes it starts in like half a second.
I've done plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, maf cleaned, spark is good, new distributor, new starter, new battery, new terminals, old cables thoroughly cleaned. Checked the throttle body for carbon deposits, and there was none. As far as the fuel pressure, I only did the pinch test on the lower filter feed line, but after clearing the lines, I pinched it, had a friend start it, and it pushed my fingers away, and there was absolutely no give to the line when I tried to squeeze it.
Mine is a 2/94...and the CEL has been on throwing the Crank Position Sensor code since I bought it. After going back and forth w/the Nissan Dealership they determined that it is located in the distributor for the 2/94. I changed the distributor, but the code resets after I turn it off and back on. Had it cleared many times, and it keeps reseting after one drive. I know a lot of people say it is on the bell housing, but there is a hole there with no sensor. The motor was never swapped. There has been a surge until 3k, and once it hits 3k it just takes off. I believe the CPS in our cars is only used to diagnose misfires for emissions, so could the code be indicating something else? possibly a different sensor? Let me know what you guys think as far as any of what I described.
Any help is greatly appreciated
