I need help with the oem flywheel for a s14 Sr20 I had the flywheel surfaced and was told that the flywheel was a flat. But a friend said it suppose to be step. I look all over and its all saying different things. So is the oem flywheel suppose to be flat or step I hate to install the new clutch and it burns out again. And also the machine said they took off 30,000 off the flywheel is that too much. Please help thanks

The machinist probably said that they took off .030" which shouldn't affect anything.

When we got the old clutch out there was already a excedy stage 2 in there so we don't know if it was ever resurfaced in Japan when that clutch was put in

Some flywheels have a "step" in them, but for the most part they are all flat. .030" is roughly three quarters of a millimeter, there is a spec that they are suppose to be within, but I don't have that information on hand at the moment. I wouldn't worry about it. If you are, I have an OEM one and an aftermarket one I'd be willing to sell you.
