I already have ss lines but I want to be absolutely sure that I have all the correct restrictors needed. When I got the ss lines they were used and the guy I got them from shorted me on some of the fittings for the oil feed specifically. Currently my oil feed doesn't have a banjo fitting that comes off the block...it's just an AN fitting that I got from a local performance shop.

My question is should I revert back to the banjo setup coming off of the block?

Another question is, do i need a banjo fitting connecting to the turbo or just an AN fitting?

I never really knew exactly how it looked in the first place, this is why I'm asking.

Thanks for the help in advance. :hsdance:

OR can I just get the proper oil restrictor fitting on frsport and give the bird to the banjo fitting?

new lines are almost 200 for the ball bearing ss line setup with all the proper fittings but I'd rather purchase the right fittings to make my setup work.

AN fittings are fine from the block to the turbo, it's done all the time. Make sure your feed line is a -4AN anything bigger and you'll blow oil seals out. Use teflon tape where it threads into the block and turbo though. I can't remember exactly what size restrictor is needed, but I do know that BB turbos require one unless you have a huge drain. With that being said I'm assuming you have a factory drain and you should use a restrictor.

They are circuit sport lines so I assume the oil feed is 4AN. And the line has an elbow where it goes into the block. Does this act as a restrictor as well? I'm thinking about just ordering two restrictors...one for the block and one for the turbo.

As for the coolant lines, they don't need restrictors since it's just a flow through system correct?

Thanks for the info man. I didn't have the proper parts in the first place so I didn't even know if my setup was correct.

You only need 1 restrictor and thats the one thats usually connected to the turbo. You can use whatever you want off the block since the restrictor is in place at the turbo.

Alright thanks for the info. I'll order just one restrictor for the oil feed.

Really appreciate the help.

...Use teflon tape where it threads into the block and turbo though...

Don't waste your time, the block fittings and turbo coolant threads are metric threads and need a crush washer or an o-ring, they don't seal on the threads so teflon tape does nothing but gum up your threads. Turbo is inverted flare for oil feed (like a brake line) and seals on the flare, again not the threads.

Only place teflon tape should be used is NPT or BSPT fittings, ones that seal on the fitting threads.

Yes, you are right they do use a crush washer, but I teflon my fittings anyway for extra measure. Doesn't hurt to do it.

Once the teflon tape frayed, it will clog the turbo oil line inlet. Bye bye turbo. I would not put telfon tape on oil or fuel line.
