Alright so I just received a DOHC cluster from a member on here and everything is working fine except for the speedometer. It is stuck at 0 mph doesn't want to move. My original Cluster issue was my speedometer intermittently worked sometime I have to hit on the dash for it to work and RPM GAUGE not working at all. This one RPM gauge works great but the speedo does not work, so switch the cluster harness around just to make sure I get the same result.
Correct me if I'm wrong both arn't the signal wire for both speedo and RPM the yellow/red wire?
if so would that mean I've got a fucking speedo?

Speed sensor no good or wiring behind dash. Simplest firsr swap the trans speed sensor

If speed sensor is no good then why is the RPM working? don't they both work off the same thing?

Alright, I drove the car to my GFS house and the speedo moved to 40 and was stuck then , when i slow down or delerate near a complete stop it drops to zero then it would come up and get stuck at 40 again. Does this really sound like a sensor issue? I would hate to spend more money only to find out it's the cluster itself.

The rpm signal is from the distributor. The speed signal is from the speed sensor on the transmission. Check your wiring for continuity from the speed sensor to the ecu and to the cluster. If they check out then try replacing with a different speed sensor.

my bet is on the speed sensor. Sounds like it may be shorting out in the actual sensor causing it to give a false/no reading

I have a feeling it's this speedometer , it won't give me any reading it would just shoot up to 40 MPH atleast the original SOHC cluster would give me the readings I would just have to hit on the dash.
