So when i was removing my center support bearing collar i was using a air gun, i think i snapped the welded on nut on the inside of the body.. the bolt is loose and moves around but it wont come out, it spins freely.

so do i have to cut open the sheep metal from the inside and re weld a new nut?
could i be ghetto and drill and tap it larger, or would there be nothing to grab..

has anyone had this problem before?

i cant afford a 1 piece driveshaft right now, i know thats the easyst fix

its one of these bolts..
the driveshaft on mine is out, i bent the ring down a bit and pulled it out.

ya youll have to re-attach the nut on inside. Or you can just ditch the oem drive shaft and get a one piece. Then never have to deal with it again.

Pretty sure if you use something between the body and the bolt to give it some pressure as you're unscrewing it, it will loosen up. No cutting needed. Hope this helps

One piece drive shaft is my suggestion as well
pulling out the interior and having a new nut welded and threaded
would be cheaper but a pain in the ass

Call around to your local diesel truck shop. Most of them can work on driveline components. Once you find one, ask them how to measure for your needed length, and how much they'll charge to cut/balance an existing piece with a new yoke/U-joint. Then, go to the local yard and find a Ford Aerostar. Pull the driveshaft. Have them cut it, balance it and put on the new yoke/U-joint. Bolt in.

Mine was rated up to 175mph/500hp with the stock final drive. It weighs somewhere around 15lbs. Who knew a 90's minivan came with an aluminum driveshaft? My uncle, apparently...
