I got a spare subframe to clean up and prep off the car. I started on the bushings and didn't get far before I said fuck it. I took it to Driftspeed in Los Alamitos and they did it for me. I think they charged me for an hour (I had them do a few other little things too).

That clunk from the front end of you car is the tension rods.
You prob have a busted one.
What happens is when you break the bushing gives letting the wheel move back, and it moved forward when you go forward.
That's the most common clunk in the front end.

They cut the bushings out. Maybe they used fire, maybe they used magic, I dunno. But my subframe is free and clear now for solid bushings.
Again, I had them do a few things so I don't know exactly how it all broke down cost wise. I think they charged me for an hour of labor though FWIW. I don't make a habit of quoting shop pricing - call them and ask.
I will say they did a good job and were quick about it. Nice guys too, exactly what I want in a shop.

Did you already buy new [solid] bushings? If not, just get the spacers. You don't have to cut out the stock bushings or even take the whole subframe off the car.

well i dont want a harsh ride so spacers are out of question.
i just want it to be oem, plus my rear diff bushings are done too so its making alot of sounds in the rear.

LOL. Good luck with getting them replaced with OEM bushings. Just go to Nissan and have them do it in that case. Spacers are the easiest way to get away with not having to buy and press in new bushings. Ride isn't that much different but I never cared about 'harshness'.

Studs can be bought from Autozone or any auto parts store. As for putting it back together is also a piece of cake, just a little time consuming. I actually will be doing the same thing to my subframe in a few months, replacing the bushings instead of putting band-aid spacers on.
I would just pay to have a mechanic do the work. Try McKinney Motorsports, they should be reasonably close to you. If not, talk to some mechanics & show them a write-up of the process: The Ultimate Subframe Bushing (s13/s14) Install Thread (30+ Pictures, anti-56k) - Nissan 240SX Forums (http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/resource-center/74580-ultimate-subframe-bushing-s13-s14-install-thread-30-pictures-anti-56k.html)
Something like that ^
