Help Regarding 240SX Title Problem

Here's the situation, the owner I am recently trying to purchase a 240SX from has lost the car title, without it she refuses to sell the car, so she decides to call in for her title to be replaced.
Later she tells me the company is not up anymore, and now I am stuck. I was waiting 3 weeks for the title to arrive... but now its becoming a real pain. I dont know what to do, I dont have experience in vehicle titles, this is my first car purchase, the owner want's to help, but she tells me she needs to find more information. "keep in mind, I did not buy the car yet" It's pretty much reserved for me, as long as it gets a title.

Would anybody have a solution here? is there anyway of getting a new title or transfer the information into a new company?

If I wanted to buy a car with a clean title, just no title becuase it was lost.

go to the DMV and get a Application for Duplicate Title, fill it out, and that can be used to transer onwership and you'll get a new title in the mail.

If the title is missing, you must use a REG 227 to complete the transfer of ownership if the title is missing.
