Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a meet in the San Jose area. It would be a fun time to meet new people, see old faces, engage in car talk, and go for a drive. If anyone has any suggestions, or interest post up.
Thanks Luke

So I found a good meeting area for a meet. There is a new starbucks right off of hwy 17 and hamilton, it is a nice parking lot, and would be a good place to meet. From there we can go for a drive, then back to my house for a bbq. wrenchen, and some drinks.
Im prob thinking of the first weekend of next month if that works for everyone.
Let me know.
Thanks Luke

I was just at the recent SJ meet at QCUP. I hated it. Bickering with each other and standing around for hours is just not my thing.
We should have a meet at a club, Track, Bars (people that is old enough I guess) or BBQ. Something to do while standing around bickering with one another.

i vote do a drive first, then BBQ and Coronas...somethin about food makes people happy and then they are more likely to engage in conversation and meet eachother...when its just looking at cars it's lame and people just chill with those they already know...plus if you keep it under like 20-25 people it also makes for more likely new friendships...masses breed anonymity...
on a side note..luke, talked to nic..i see you havn't lost your touch..:)..always could sell ice to eskimos..;)..

Last time I did a driving meet, A 240 came flying in the middle of the tree. Ever since then, I haven't had any driving meet.
Last thing I want is to get sued by Mommy and Daddy's for their children crashing.
This is why I have track days meet now... Safer.
Yeah, yeah, Mt, Touge, Whatever hills is free but wait till you hit a damn tree or a deer. It'll cost more than track days.
Those who do mt.runs is cool as long you realize what you really getting into.

Al,
I was there. That kinda sucked. He was the guy bragging about how his car had excellent brakes and that is was hella balanced.
Hey it was going pretty well till then with a pretty good turn out.
Hey I've already posted it, but I'm setting up a BBQ at grant ranch. We're gonna meet up at McKee and Toyon, and drive up to Grant Ranch. I'm suppling Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, some chicken, Chips, and Drinks.
This is going down on November 1st. If anyone's interested check out my thread
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread....&threadid=37803
I'm gonna be suppling the food so who ever wants a kewl drive, and free food and is free about 2:30 check out the thread. I'll be posting the time later.

Ok guys as Noah suggested were pushing it back to nov 15th at the soonest. That way everyone can plan for it. There also appears to be enough events and meets until then to keep everyone buisy. Also I will be doing a swap in my s13 this weekend if anyone wants to come hang out and have a beer or 2.
I have only had this s13 for 2 days, and its all ready for the swap. The first day I had it I got it smogged, the 2nd day we gutted the car so we can start seam welding, pulled the motor and tranny, and swapped the suspension. Some thing tells me this wont take 11 months to build like my z did . Lol.
Anyways. Hit me up if anyone wants to come over.

Directions.
from 101 or 280.
Take hwy 17 towards Santa Cruz. (south) Exit on Camden ave. Make a right at the 1st light (camden). Make a left at bascom ave. the next light. Go up Bascom and make a right on union ave. The diner is in the parking lot on the left. Basically the 2nd and 3rd drivways on the left lead you to the diner.
From Hwy 85.
Take hwy 17 north. Exit camden ave, same as above.
Please let me know who will be attending.

Yeah, for the s13 there were 3 models. 89-90 (zenki), 91-93 (chuki), and 94-98 (kouki).
For further info, I found this website: http://www.nadine180.com/cars/index.html
hope this helps?

no..
zenki means early model..kouki means late...thus, for USDM..cause JDM has no real relevance here...
89-90 s13 is zenki
91-94 s13 is kouki (sometimes refered to as chuki)
95-96 s14 is zenki
97-98 s14 is kouki
at least to my knowledge...
:)
see, the problem is we are using Japanese terms to define USDM models..which really doesn't work so well...simply because we didn't get the variance over here that they did...so it makes it confusing..
SQxCCCon
10-27-2003, 06:27 PM
Oh ok, I thought chuki was the japanese term for middle version. Iono, If I was Japanese, I would know, but I'm just a Korean who likes Japanese cars! haha

They may hate ricers, but they all liked my fully built z. So there you have it. If you dont want to come then dont. If you do want to come, well see you out there.
And whos s13 convertible are you refering to? In other news i have 5 other people coming as of now, so it looks like were at about 15-20 cars right now. It should be fun for all!.

Hmmmm..... interesting. Its almost as if whoever built your car didn't know what they were doing but pretended to know everything. It's always breaking stuff that shouldn't be breaking. Weird how that stuff goes. Too bad it took 15K for you to realize that the person building your car could've been a little more humble and asked questions instead of ghetto rigging things and being impatient. sux.

They hate ricers. HATE.
No,they hate "ricers" because look at how stupid most of them are; they do burnouts in the parking lot, on the street in front of the diner, and just act in a reckless manner overall. Maybe if *some* people would grow up, and shape up, then they would be more widely appreciated. But until they do, it is right that the people at Happy Days HATE you folks. I hate you folks. And my mom hates you folks.
Happy Days people also hate stalkers who drive by peoples' homes in the middle of the night, too.

The people who did the shanky ass job of swapping the engine in that poor girl's car, and I heard they're self-proclaimed SR20 experts too! Oh wait, or were they called SR20 gurus? Something like that...

Why don't people stop worrying about Georgia's car. It run's, it looks bad ass, it's safe, and it is only getting better cuz she works on it everyday. I think people need to worry about their own cars cuz the quality of swaps is going down drastically in the bay area. Mistakes happen, stuff can be fixed, talk crap and you are nothing more than a mistake maker that can't fix anything.

unless i'm mistaken, the swap was done by an individual named Keith prior to Georgia (poor girl) purchasing the vehicle...so i don't see where the idea of multiple people, or in this case a shop (which i know you are alluding to), comes into play...
if you are going to talk shit why don't you just come out and say it...instead of trying to beat around the bush?..or are you just a pussy behind a computer screen?

Ok guys!!!!
The shit talking needs to stop now...
The car does have some issues, but they are all in the process of being fixed. The wiring is getting redone, and the car runs well.
The reason the car will be having work done has nothing to do with anything mechanical! It's going to get a new paint job!
Oh yeah...I havn't spent 15k yet!!! HAHAHA...soon...but not yet!

Ok the shit talking does need to stop. This is a thread about a meet and not a bs thread.
Heres the end of it,I dont want to see anymore on this thread or ill start a shit talking thread so you can post it there.
Long story short:
Keith. A nice guy in san jose wanted to do an sr swap so,I sold him a front clip. It was his first time doing a sr swap, and he probibly got confused on the wiring. After some troubleshooting he got it running and had no problems with it. Then he wanted a eo-1 boost controller and an e-manage, so he took it to a shop to have them installed. The shop (not in santa cruz) could not figure it out and hooked up the wires wrong. They smoked the ecu, ignitor, emanage, and whatever. A month later Keith picked up the car with only the boost controller installed. He was frustrated and decided to sell the car to my friend Georgia. The wiring was messy, but not from Keith. Besides even if it was who cares, Im sure most of us would make fun of some of the things we have done to our cars in the past. Anyways the wiring was done at a shop in san jose that will remain nameless. She has only had one prob with the wiring that I know of, and that was no ones fault. The ground for the fuel pump fell off. So theres a long story short, and stop making fun of georgias car, because its bad ass, and you know you want one...
In other news. Keith is a friend of mine and he has done over 10 sr swaps, he is really good at sr swaps and he even helped me with my wiring to save time. So if you really think Kieth has wiring issues then come look at my car on the 15th and judge all you want.
