A while back I purchased a Hybrid Valve Cover for my Blacktop SR. I just got around to installing it. I was told the reason the hybrid cover helps with blow-by is the baffles on the underside of the valve cover. Well, when i compared the two, they look like they both have baffles. Maybe im looking at the wrong things.
Anyways, if anyone knows what the advantages are of the Hybrid Valve Cover are, please let me know. Even though i love the way it came out, i still would like to hope i bought something that functions well too. Thanks.

S14 SR valve cover does have internal baffling, which prevents all of the oil to just end up in the catch can.(s13 vc do not have internal baffling)
The internal baffling of the S14 valve cover redirects the oil back onto the camshafts, instead of going straight to the catch can.

Thanks for the response but yes, i understand that it has been covered before, I said that in the original post. They all talk about baffles. My question is: Other than the hump on top, what are the differences in my two valve covers? Just by looking at them they seem to both have baffles on the underside to redirect oil back onto the camshafts. But maybe im looking at the wrong things. If i am, Someone please correct me. Thanks for the help.

You are correct there's not a lot of difference there. The main problem with the s13 valve cover is the T in the design. By replacing the T with a single fitting and adding another fitting at the rear and drilling/cutting, you've essentially duplicated the s14 cover minus the coolness of the useless hump.
This revelation cost you how much? Well it could have been avoided with a search.
Oh yeah s13 red tops and black tops are so different that none of the parts can be used to make a maroon top

So other than the faulty design of the T-fitting (which didnt get explained) and the hump on top, Can anyone tell me any differences or benefits between my two valve covers? Thanks for the help.

Your question was answered already. By removing the T on the s13 valve cover for a single fitting and then adding a fitting behind the E on the valve cover is basically the same idea as the s14 valve cover. This is a cheaper and easier route with the same benefits as a s14.3 cover. It has been covered.

Yes, any engine will benefit with a catch can and having it plumbed back to a vacuum source.
