sohc to dohc wiring trouble??in need of a lil help

Im about to take my sohc out of my car an swap in my dohc kat.
but im not sure what I will need to do to the wiring harness to make this work.
I been searching online and can't seem to find any thing about.
any help we be awesome..thanks the car is a 89 240sx coupe the new motor
came out of a 91 240sx coupe(I think that's the wright year)

Im trying to get the dohc motor in and running by the 18th.
I really can't find shit about this anywhere.Im really in need of some help..

Dude there is so much info on this out there its rediculous. But I'll help.

You need to take the dash plug from the sohc harness and splice it into the dohc harness. The dohc harnes dash plug will not connect to the sohc dash harness plug.

All you have to do is match the colors:
Yellow/Red --Tach
Yellow/Green--Speedometor
Orange--Ignition start
Black---Ground
Blue/Black---Water temp sensor

These are the only ones you need for it to run. So basically cut off sohc connector from engine harness, cut connector from dohc engine harness and splice the sohc dash plug onto the dohc engine harness. Simply match those 5 colors.

Its very simple.

Yeas thanks man..I just found some info on repining the plug..
Im doin all this searching and messaging from my phone so its kinda a pain in the ass tosearch..but with the info I found they said I will need the dohc cluster?is that true?
And one of the 240guys by my house said the plugs behind the passenger side
head light are different?

The plugs by the headlight are fine. Though I have heard that before too. You don't necessarily need a new cluster but at least an rpm gauge from a dohc, sohc won't read. Also you need to swap the temp sensor for the temp gauge over from the sohc to dohc motor for it to read correctly. Its the single pin fitting on the intake manifold next to a red plug.

Oh ok..I also found out that the sohc dash plug black wire is for data.
the sohc dash plug don't have a ground and the dohc dash plug black wire is a ground.
I have a dohc cluster would it plug in to my sohc car?

the dohc cluster will bolt right up. remember the temp sensor for the gauge.

Cool..im gonna start the swap as soon as my head gets back from the shop.
