View Full Version : SR motor mounts bigger than KA??
Okay I dropped in the engine today and i found something strange..the engine doesn't sit on the crossmember! The mounts are lined up to the chassis bracket but the block is about 2 inches above the crossmember. my only conclusion is that the SR mounts sits the engine higher than KA mounts? Can anybody confirm this or do I have the wrong mounts?

uhhh yeah the engine dosent sit on the crossmember, if it did it would damage the oil pan.
mounts are the same, the reason the SR "appears" to be higher is due to engine being a different design. Notice the Oil pans are completely different

???? The SR sits at a different angle that's the only difference. Are you sure you installed your mounts correctly? Or was your KA in there the wrong way or what? Neither engine sit on the crossmember.
hmm. I guessed I bought one that was sitting on the crossmember. LOL which would explain alot of things while I was driving with the KA, the car would rattle. Thanks for the input.

The SR pan should sit right behind the cross member the lower part. Not sure on the KA, but it should sit in about the same place.
Yeah so I had it right, just thought I did something wrong. I (for some reason) thought the engine had to rest/come in contact with the cross member. only thing that comes in contact with the chassis is the 2 mounts and tranny mount.
ka mounts will work for the sr
