I've been wanting to put an oil pressure gauge on my KA for quite some time now. It's built so of course I'm kinda worried just naturally.

I don't think I have low oil pressure, but when I'm driving I can hear my valves/cylinder head clearly(yes the clearances are all 100%), with the window down. I'm sure if I had low oil pressure my motor would've blown up now, seeing as I drive 26 miles to work every day.

Anyway, with that said, what are you guys using for your oil pressure gauge? I'd rather go mechanical than electric.

Also, my stock sending unit is already tee'd for my turbo feed. Can I use the other fitting that is on the oil filter housing?

No responses, because it's kind of a no brain-er.
If the gauge is to be mounted in the cock pit, it should be electrical.
They do make mechanical gauge isolators, that make it safe to run mechanical gauges in cabin. Choose your gauge and accessories that are required to install it.

I don't think its necessary to have an electrical one if its in the cockpit. Plenty of quality mechanical gauges available. I currently have a glowshift gauge which has been fine so far, but i would really like to switch to a mechanical gauge. Electrical things can fail, where as a much gauge is far less likely.

I would run an isolator for mechanical fuel, oil and even coolant. I don't want that shit spraying in my face or burning me. This is just being smart. Nothing wrong with a mech gauge but this is a tech forum think smarter. Young buck!!
