first of all this seems like a great forum and i've read alot of interesting stuff allready..and yes i have tried the search..many times:D
i'm picking up a 1994(95-96 in the usa) 200sx from germany as far as i can see they seem pretty similar to the 240sx s14 in usa except for the 2L turbo engine we use..it is basically impossible to get a s14a in germany for a resonable price so i figure it would be a good winter project to convert to the s14a(kouki) front and install a full body kit...i've read through the conversion walkthrough, just wondering what your views are on fitment issues if i decide to go with a bodykit/s14a conversion parts designed for the 240sx s14(a)?
only real difference i could see was the plate holder thing on the rear bumper
pictures of the european 200sx(the model year i'm buying):

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Btw: i'm from Norway if anyone was wondering

hello,how's it going?
unless its different in europe
the taillights show are kouki (97/98) and the front end you showed it 96/96 (zenki)
different already
i ASSUME by s14a you mean kouki (97/98 with the 'agressive/shark headlights')
but i could be mistaken
differences in the interior, body work, you have rear fog lights (for rear bumper)
the zenki (95/96) headlights are glass.
body parts
DONT BUY 240sx ones!
get Japanese ones. haha..they are much nicer and 95% of the time fit perfect
the quality on average is much much higher as well. Might cost more but it well worth the investment!
any parts body wise from a s14 ---depending on zenki OR kouki will fit as long as you have the same generation
if you have kouki car
get kouki body parts
if you have zenki car
get zenki body kit
because front and rear bumpers are different.
sideskirts you can use either zenki or kouki for your car. it doesnt matter. they are same
i hope that helps some. sorry if i cause any confusion.
peace

ok let's see if i got it:D
do you know a place that sells the complete conversion from s14 (a.k.a zenki,95-96) to s14a (a.k.a kouki, shark, bad look,97-98) for a 1994 200sx euro\jdm, or places where i can source the parts...also someone that sells the bodykit for the 200sx(cuz i will need the kouki front bumper if i convert to kouki headlights\fenders etc..?)? i might as well buy a complete bodykit for a kouki jdm 200sx
hehe soo many questions so little time;)

hmm
its hard to get
even stateside sometimes
this is a short little writeup:
http://www.jspec.com/s14koukcon.html
your best bet imho since your in europe is:
get the headlights locally if you can from a kouki
fenders
hood
bumper
go aftermarket
wide fenders (VERTEX ---japan brand--- is 12mm wider then stock)
www.speedalliance.com
bumper (OEM or aftermarket) Japan:
aftermarket:
http://www.jspec.com/friens14bum.html
oem:
http://www.jspec.com/s14whitekouki.html
hood: go aftermarket vented style (so many choices in japan)
of course it would still cost a hefty amount on the wallet!
you can do it but its just MONEY MONEY MONEY!

i read in the readup on this forum that average(suggested) cost would be $1200 for the conversion only with oem front bumper... my question is then if i instead of buying the oem bumper i can just buy a complete aftermarket kit they cost like $1200? so i'm trying to stay below $2500 basically;)
any price guess\estimate on the parts if i have to order all this from japan?

hard to say
its not the body part that's expensive. its the shipping/customs and so forth. that will be the killer on the price :(

hmm...nobody knows of any places in japan\europe that sell any of these parts? i don't speak japanese so it would be a pita to try to search for japanese tuners that sell it :D
i was meaning to write $3000 max(before i pay customs) for s14a\kouki conversion and full bodykit w\shipping

http://www.powerpage.dk/index.html (and click "links")
British Site:
http://www.norrisdesigns.com/ (S14 bodykit pics arent working tho...but you could email them...maybe cheaper shipping since it's a bit closer)
You could probably recoup about $200-300 of that cost by selling your S14b glass euro headlights on here, people foam at the mouth whenever those are mentioned, and every time someone supposidly has a "hookup" in Germany it seems you never hear from them again.

thx =)

no kidding i haven't even bought the car yet but still i recieved an e-mail from a guy wanting to buy the headlights :D
could only find one place on the danish site and they were more expensive than here in norway..
trying to find some pics of the norris kit's since the one's on the homepage don't work...
the conversion with oem bumper cost aprox $1200 so if i sell the headlights and buy an aftermarket bumper instead... 1200(aprox of conversion)-300(oem bumper)-250(selling the s14 lights)+1500?(full bodykit)=$2150
this is just a really rough estimate not taking shipping etc into consideration..
i may even have found a s14a (kouki) donor right here in norway...

Have you ever seen the S15 front?? Just curious what you think of it considering you'd probably be the only person in your country to have one.
Honestly your best option is probably to be patient and search the junkyards for a junked S14A with a good front end. Heck, you could even search the junkyards there for S14B headlights and resell them here to make a profit to fund your swap. As long as you dont rip people with price I'm sure you'd be successful.

yep seems like my best bet is to buy the conversion parts locally ..but the kit i think i will save some $$ if i buy in f.ex the uk
i see that they sell bodykits for the 240sx s14 on ebay for a resonable price anybody buying any of these kit's?
Btw i've seen the s15 front and it's sweet but the conversion alone costs2500-3000 and then i still need a bodykit =)

hmm...the 200sx isn't exactly an everday car over here either..but i could check..but my guess would be too get someone from germany to do the shipping since it's easier to source the parts down there...
but def. selling the lights when i do the conv

anyhowz..with this installed are there any parts i don't need or have to remove anywayz when i install the fmic(bumper support etc..) just trying not to buy more parts than nesseary to save at least a little $$ =)

ok thnx for the link but was just wondering if i had to remove the bumper reinforcement anywayz if i was going fmic..that way i wouldn't have to buy that part...
anyhowz....i've sold my corrado to a m8 so next vacation\weekend i can get a plane ticket down to germany i'm picking up a zenki :D i've been smiling constantly since i confirmed the sale on my car
+ i got a contact that works at a paint\restauration shop here in norway that said i would get a good price on the paint+fitting..

I would think most OEM bumpers you'd buy used would come with the bumper support. I know for my 93 S13 the bumper support isnt really in the way for a FMIC, but if I cut any holes into it for extra airflow I'll have to also "tunnel" the holes thru the bumper support also. Not a big deal however.

Good to hear from an overseas enthusiast. That is a beautiful Zenki! The look will grow on you, and you'll want to spend your money on pefomance upgrades instead of replacing perfectly good body parts. However the glass zenki headlights would be a good way to fund your project. We have plastic ones here that turn yellow and make the whole car look bad. I'm sure that you could sell any that you could find at a profit on eBay or the zilvia classifieds. If you can't get them from a junkyard, get some new ones from a dealer. Also the Z-edition bumpers are supposed to be a hot item for the S14, but I've heard that dealers no longer have those.
