The machine shop did not shave my ARP main studs for my sr20, so my upper oil pan does not fit properly. I was wondering if anyone could give me the details on having the upper oil pan machined to clear the studs. Pictures, size and depth of cut, or any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to have this done locally so I am trying to gather some information for the machine shop.

Thanks

You'll need to mark the pan where they make contact, drill two holes in it, take it to a welder, and have them weld two recessed plugs in it.

Or you can grind the head of the bolts off while it's on an engine stand

Ugh, the second option sounds kinda rough. How do you keep the material from going into the block? I should have got the Mazworx studs.

Thanks for the quick response Cody. Can you pm me about your quest alternator kit please.
