I did some soul searching and decided that I want to actually pick something else up instead and as such I am wanting to sell my 1973 Datsun 240z. For those that may have seen this ad before, I added a few items.
PRICE: $4000. I used to have this OBO, but considering the amount of work and parts on it, I just can't justify selling for less. Throw an offer my way anyway to see what I say..worst case I can say is no ^_^
TRADES: Please no trades unless you have an E36 BMW..prefer 325is/328is/early year M3 5-speed manuals only though. Less likely, but possibly open to S13/S14s 5 speed only.
Here is your chance to pick up a really nice 240z with a bolt ons!
1973 240z (build date 2/73)
L28 Swap smog garbage removed...read as more power and reliability ;)
ENGINE DOES NOT LEAK OIL!
5-speed Swap
Aftermarket exhaust 2.5" header back with no name brand muffler. Sounds nice! Don't like it, spend a like a 150 bucks and toss in a resonator or a flowmaster to really turn heads.
Tokico Blues shocks on stock springs.
14" Mag Wheels
4-Screw SU Carbs with spacers
New NGK plugs done about 2500 miles ago
New belts
The fuel tank hoses are redone
Clutch master and slave cylinders were replaced with new units
Carbs Street tuned with a wideband
New differential insulator OEM Nissan part
Lightweight, high rpm, single grove, solid billet with harmonic vibration insulator racing crank pulley from MSA ($200 item alone!)
New front crank seal
Factory Nissan Battery hold down
Frame rails, battery area, and other structural areas SOLID with no rust.
Comes with some new carpet (like the passenger side) and has a replacement carpet over the spare wheel well.
GREAT CONDITION ORIGINAL FUSEBOX with factory plastic fuse box cover. I nearly started drooling after I saw that. Damn. Do a search around..these can go for like $300 alone in good shape!!
Have Gold Key for Trunk and a nice shiny Z key for the ignition.
Motor is in PERFECT shape. Very healthy pull across all gears and carbs are in great shape and also with new needles.
Registration pending (waiting slip from DMV) but will be current to new owner by the time of sale.
I used her as my daily and she got great gas mileage..not hard to do considering the car doesn't really weigh anything.
Reason for selling: Change of heart. I really want to get into an e36 and can't justify having 5 total cars.
I'm in no hurry to sell and want her to go to a good home.
She kept up with my buddy's Dual Cam 240sx which dynoed at 145hp (the s13 had some bolt ons an a dual cam tune) uphill.
Frame rails quite in great shape and common spots free.
Hatch has a cancer spot, but then again the car's 40 years old.
Comes with some records I received from the PO.
Will need some lowering springs and maybe a set of sways to be a worthy little race car to keep up with the more expensive setups! It's a cheap car to make go fast and very easy to work on!
It kills me to sell her, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
