i have a 89 hatch that i put a 98 ka into. i have 98 distributor, maf sensor, intake manifold, engine harness, and ecu. any wiring scematics to get it running or someone with the know how. research is coming up blank, plenty of e to de but none with 95half -98

Your gonna need the maf, dizzy, ecu, wiring harness, exhaust manifold, and lower intake manifold from a 91 - 94. Your also going to need to use the temp sensor for the gauge from the sohc motor for the temp to read correctly. You'll also want a tachometer from a 91-94 as well.

thanx for the info ive heard that solution, im pretty sure its possible without swaping unecessary parts. guage cluster i understand. wiring it has to be possible

if u dont like the correct answer stated above why ask the question? can it be done with the parts u have, yes....is it easy, no. is it easier to get the above parts listed than modify what u have....hell yes.

the question was asked for knowledge not a useless opinion. if it comes down to wiring then its not such an hard task. why pay for extra parts when i can pay a little for a wiring diagram

its not a little work. You would be doing a full obd1 to obd2 conversion. that entails a lot of work.

i was trying to prevent having to buy more parts since i just spent alot of money on parts for a 98 ka

Well it'll probably cost a lot for the wiring. Aside from having to mess with the chassis harness as well. Whatever you replace on the motor you could sell off.

ok since i already have a 98 engine wiring harness would it be possible to splice the intake manifold sensor connectors to the 91-94 engine wiring harness and swap the throttle body to a 91-94 so the tps sensor would match instead of buying a hole intake manifold from a 91-94?

I have a 98 ka in a 89 240. i have a 98 engine wiring harness... tTo use the 98 intake manifold for the swap, can i splice the 98 sensor connectors to a 93 engine wiring harness and then change the throttle body to a 91-94 for the tps sensor. would that work instead of changing the whole intake manifold?

if u have the whole thing ie
engine harness
then u can look up a s14 sr20det wireing guide
or s14 ka fsm
just look for big white dash plug schematic
as long as u give it
constant 12v
switched 12v
and connect the gauge cluster
u will need dohc cluster
and to install s13 dohc temp sensor
for the s13 dohc cluster to read engine temp
the man asked a simple Q
IT CAN BE DONE..BUT IT IS WIRING
theres no guide for this so ur in the dark
but u can find the corresponding fsm and go from there

Here are your choices.

Keep the harness, use the 98 ECU. Keep all sensors except cts that goes to the dash.

Have you looked at the interior plug on the s14 harness? It's massive. You'll have to wire up that shit. Google schematics. Window wiper thing is on the s14 harness as well. You'll have to figure out that. You'll also have to wire in some relays that the s13 dual cam doesn't have.

OR

Get: s13 tps, cts, intake manifold, o2 sensor, distributor, mafs, you'll need a s13 dohc ignition coil, s13 dohc cluster, s13 dohc harness, dohc ecu yadayadayda. I don't remember what else. Plug and play. You're going to have to make your own heater lines if you don't swap intake manifolds. You're going to to have to dremel out a little on the inside of the... can't think of the name, too tired to care, this thing (http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/images/products/Lights/e6-ground.jpg) that goes to the alternator, super simple shit.

I'm probably missing a bunch of stuff but it's 2am. Don't pick apart my post.

I was in the same situation as you. I googled and found most people recommending what the above poster are saying.

Like you I had everything from a s14 so I was kind of irratated to find out I needed a bunch of other $hit to complete the swap. I came to the conclusion of selling my complete s14 set and just bought a s13 set. If youre on the mainland should be a piece of cake to source out parts, unlike me stuck on a island that no one wants to ship 2.

But if you want to wire it up goodluck I couldnt find anyone who had attempted that yet so would be cool to see someone try.

heres what I found http://www.nissanforums.com/s13-240sx-1989-1994/140594-ka24de-engine-swap-into-89-90-a.html
