you cannot substitute the Z32 MAFS without some offset adjustment to the computer. I've heard you can use the KAe MAFS but I think that's only for the 3 wire MAFS. they're not all the same.

^^correct but only the Red Top can use the KAE MAFS

Oh ok, I'm getting a blacktop, I just called a friend and he got and extra one so thank god. Thanks. When would I need to get the Z32 maf? After 250hp?

sounds about right, but for performance benefits, just do it as soon as you can. Most people do it when they're ready for tune.

Yeah. z32 maf would need a tune. so just keep it until you have to tune it for maybe bigger injectors or something then tune it for the maf too.

damn it, i placed the order for my sr last night but it didnt go through
business address wasnt the same as card holder's so i didnt have enough for the residential shipping.
ill will have to wait another week.
a friend said to have a "minus"? ecu for an sr for bigger injectors and z32 maf
what are other ways to add some "ponies" to a stock sr??? i know my way around ka's, not sr's.
i just wanna get 280-300hp, hope its not much to ask ha.

i think before you start to make some power an sr need some attention like a nice radiator to keep it cool as well an oil cooler rocker stoppers and big oil pan mite wana rad the sticky on sr's

A good rule of thumb is 280hp is about max for alot of supporting mod on the SR. Maxes out the MAF, fuel pump (SR not KA) and injectors.

Wouldn't that be about the time to put in arp studs?

I am not sure when its a good idea to put those in...but before you get too crazy with the mods you definitely should.

Make sure you have everything ready engine bay wise too before you drop it in. and your heater hoses. i forgot about those and had to do it with the motor in. its a real PITA.

also a metal headgasket would be a good idea. the motor im buying is coming with a apexi 1.1 metal head gasket. :)
