hey guys, i have a 93 ka24det,
my setups a hx35, currently 370cc ( have 760's waiting on order) z32 maf, nistune.
she runs like a charm driving around at a constant speed and stuff but whenever i come to a stop she smokes like no tomorrow. and it only smokes when i come to a stop.
im looking for some advice/help on what to troubleshoot to find my problem.

i'm thinking rear turbo seal and/or valve seals

what color is the smoke?

intercooler/piping has no oil.

you dont have an oil restrictor do you? I had the exact same problem. Stock oil pressure is too much for the rear seal on your turbo (and yes you will damage the turbo with too much oiling) and is causing the issue. get a restrcitor and i guarrantee it will go away. I thought it was valve seals as well and pulled my head apart and replaced everything to still have the issue and found out i needed a $20 restrictor.

ok well you can rule out running rich and coolant leaks.

You have a burning oil problem, take a look at your turbo seal.

Does sounds like its your Valve Seals.. Try switching to a slightly heavier oil for now.. Try Rotella 15/40 may just help.

I was using 10-40 with lucas addative. It's gotta be pretty close to a 15-40.
