Ok so I have a redtop sr with intake, fmic, 3in exhaust, hks bov, running stock boost, stock maf, stock injectors, stock fuel pump, stock t25, and all of the emissions equipment is removed. Also the motor only has like 400 miles on it since a full stock rebuild.compression numbers are all between 155 and 160 SOOOOOO.......

When I first start the car when its cold, it cranks, fires, and dies unless I give it gas. I give it gas for about 10 secs and then let it idle. It idles but very low, and if I give it gas, it hesitates. Once the car is warm, it runs fine other than when I let of the gas quick the idle drops very low and wants to die but then goes back to normal idle, guessing from running a vta bov.

ALSO... when I accelerate to get on the freeway or something it feels like it is leaning out or something and sometimes pops through the intake. This only happens sometimes, not every time I accelerate. Also I got on it a little to see if it continues to feel like its leaning. After 4krpm it starts to pull hard like it should Then I let off. Turbo hits full boost before that though

Checked timing and it is set to 15 btdc, pulled plugs and they aren't fouled but are very white there is no browning on them.

I'm thinking the stock fuel pump might be the problem or maybe a bad O2 sensor. Also maybe a bad coolant tep sensor causing the cold idle problem

If anybody has any insight that would be freking awesome, thanks in advance

you're running a stock fuel pump on a turbocharged motor. you feel like re-building it again anytime soon?

Recommend at least a shitty 90 dollar walbro 255 pump, and a z32 fuel filter guy. If your car idles the way it's supposed to when it's warm there is nothing wrong with the coolant temp sensor, if your idle sits at 2000 rpms when warm like mine, then your coolant temp sensor is probably bad.

Ok gunna get a walbro today and see if that fixes it, and I am already running a z32 filter. Can the idlle problem be caused by the egr delete? I've heard of some people having problems after removing emissions crap

I don't have egr shit on my sr20, and a lot of people dont.

yea turbo on stock fuel pump is pretty ballsy my friend.

You might try cleaning you IACV or AACV whatever you wanna call it.

My turboed sr20 sentra had terrible problems like that when it got cold out. I just unbolted it and sprayed some carb cleaner onto cue tips and wiped out all that carbon buildup. After that I neve had a problem again.

Ok ill try that too. So you think its the fuel pump that's causing the leaning?

has to be I dont has how the stock fuel pump can get near enough flow unless I am under-estimating it.

If the car works anywhere north of idle then it isn't the fuel pump, at idle the fuel requirements are very minimal.

BUT STILL REPLACE YOUR FUEL PUMP SERIOUSLY.

did you disconnect the coolant lines under the intake manifold?

phrases like it feels lean make me antsy...do you have an A/F meter, could you atleast log consult data on the oem 3-wire O2 sensor?

^^yea thats true.

Well replaced my pump and that was it for the leaning problem. Hadn't driven this motor without the stock pump yet and holy shit........ that was a kick in the ass when it hit boost. So lesson learned, don't run stock pump if you plan on pushing the motor... the stocker worked fine for cruising and low boosting but def needed the walbro......

No just gotta get time to clean my iacv. That's not a big problem for me tho

Did u buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to compensate for the new higher flowing fuel pump?

Isn't the stock KA pump and the stock SR pump the same though?

Isn't the stock KA pump and the stock SR pump the same though?

I know with FWD turbo they are, and are fine for anything a T25 setup will demand.

With that said, I'd still change it to a Walbro as it's not a bad idea. Gotta remember these things are 15-20 years old now, most of them with 100k+...

One of those 'yes it will work, no I wouldn't suggest it' kinda deals
