I'm looking to step Up Turbo wise and wondering Which I should Get to Meet What I want out of a turbo.
I am now Running a Garrett GT2860 currently (RAS,B/C Ti Retainers and Springs,PBM HMIC,Sard FPR) -
Enthalpy Tuned ECU at 15psi/93oct with 550's,Z32, etc etc - I have Tomei Poncams to install also but haven't yet.
I don't mind Stepping Up Injectors If need be because I'm running Deatchwerks and not sure I wanna Run those with More power/boost.
I want a bigger turbo and My goals are:
-Quick Spool being my #1
-Moderate Power (330-370whp)
-Low RPM Power band
My choices (bottom mount):
Power Enterprise PT1420
HKS GTRS or SS
HKS 2835
GT2871
Lemme know What I should Shoot for to be simple/nice and If I need injectors (Clearly a re-tune for cams and Turbo install)
What Boost SHould I run safely.

I am running a gt2871r, although its on a ka-t, its the .86 and it's really nice and responsive, i haven't driven any cars that are running HKS turbos, but they seem to be super responsive, based off of the d1 cars running T04Z's they make great power and have amazing response it seems.
My car makes 12lbs at around 3800 rpm and it comes in hard. I haven't put the car on the dyno so i can't say how much power if puts down. I'm also running 440cc injectors.
I'd get a hold of Codyace to chime in, he seems to have the most insight into matters like this.

wishihadasilvia posted something interesting awhile ago about small turbos' spool time and output. It included the garrett gt2871, hks gtss and apexi turbos; and if iirc, the hks had the best spool time with a decent top end. Hopefully hell chime in.

Have you looked into the new BorgWarner EFR? Integrated BOV, quick spool, designed for smaller engines
Borg Warner EFR 6258 Turbo T25 Flange (225-400 HP) [ 6258-179150 ] - Enjuku Racing - Performance Parts and High Quality Fabrication (http://www.enjukuracing.com/borg-warner-6258-turbo-flange-225400-p-10907.html)

thanks Guys.
Yes I looked into the New Tomei Arms Turbos as well as Borg Warner had crossed my mind also.
anyway...It seems from a Price Standpoint I could get a 2871 .64..some New 550's/600+ injectors and drop my cams in a Be Well where I want to be. and be right where a PE or HKS would be.
I was just worried the 2871 wouldn't spool..+ I'd love a PE Or HKS Turbo just to soothe my "bling" factor i guess, seeing as how alot of people run the 2871.Must Be a reason right?
so 17psi .64 Trim for low end??? Put me where I wanna be + a tune?

yeah 2871 will most likely be fine for my power/spool goals.
I have "Douchewerks" and they have been perfectly fine though the base fuel Pressure had to be Bumped up to 50psi base pressure the meet the "550"cc's, since they are Somewhat re-drilled KA injectors. Not a fan of that Idea once I get into More Most like 17psi TBH.
I wanna go with something Renouned for Fuel like tomei, sard or possibly even some Sti injectors. 550's I imagine should be of for my goals yes??
At what point do I need to Move up a stage?

well 550's are good for about 380 hp. but if youre getting a gt28 you can produce so much more power, and may have to go up to 650's. Im trying to get gt28, and im planning on getting up to 460 hp. making horsepower is easy lol but tractions the hard part

Just an obervation but I tend to see alot of people running 740cc's or somewhere near that with the gt28.
Nonetheless gt2871.
