So a guy calles me about getting a tune the other day. He tells me that his engine was tuned by another local tuner before he bought it and it never seemed to run right. He brought it to him to see if it could be tuned better so the guy did a street tune on it http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/images/smilies/scratch.gif

Anyways the engine blew (go figure, I thought street tunes were bulletproof!)

So he builds the engine with eagle rods and weisco pistons (9:1 which are lower compression than stock).
I went on a ride with the guy and he shows me how it drives good but in boost it will pop sometimes. I said it sounds like spark blow out and we went and grabbed new plugs, I gapped them and we installed them and went to the dyno. The owner of the car said that he fears he had a ignition problem because his previous tuner said that is what was wrong with it.

We put the car on the dyno and first pull me and the dyno operator pull the run short because of the amount of detenation we hear! The car had WAY too much timing! I pull 10* out in the boost load cells and work on getting the afrs nailed. We played with the timing and boost levels until we ended up with the desired results of this.

Now he has more power and tq and it will last much longer than his street tune.

Between the dyno and tune he paid $340 because his ecu already had the nistune board.

Now please tell me why people use safc's, pretuned ecus, street tunes, tunes they downloaded off the net ect.
If you have made more power than this on a dyno dynamics with a t25 kat (or even an sr) using anything other than a proper dyno tune please post it up.
EDIT: Since there was some confusion on this on another forum, I know an sr with a t25 can should and will make more power than this, Im just saying I want to see some of their graphs if they are piggy back or mail order tuned doing (how much) better than this.

Yea, I'm "that guy". Lol. Seriously though night and day between the 2 tunes. I am more than happy with the results of this tune and with Brandon. Can't say enough about what a knowledgeable and helpful guy he is. Also a big thanks to johnathan the dyno operator. Just as helpful and made the experience a pleasant one. Can't say what happened with the first tune or why it turned out like crap but ya live and learn...and I learned there's only one person I'll ever have my cars tuned by from here on out....$340 is chump change when your getting results like this on a real dyno. Not some crap dyno jet that just makes you feel better about yourself! Worth every penny! Thanks again Brandon and johnathan. I'll try and post up a video as soon as I can
