so today,
i went to install my new catco cat and my new catback.
so after getting that set up, went to turn the car on to hear it.
keep in mind i havent driven this car in like 2 months, because i need to go through emissions.
before that it sat in a storage unit for about 6 months, while i painted it and restored the interior.

then one day i decided to start it, and it started up fine. we even drove it around the block a few times no problems.

so back to hearing the new exhaust
get in
sit down
clutch
check its in neutral
put key in, turn

tries for a minute, and nothing.
try again, nothing

friend looks at me, says
i dont think its getting sparked

im still noob and im like ok maybe so i try again

we continue to try a few more times and occasionally it sounds like it was almost about to go and would make a lil brief noise

so id try again like ALMOST GOT IT

then while holding the key foreward,
everything just stops and turns off.

you push the key foreward, nothing. not even the gauges do their little roll over.
pull the key back and try to push the button to pull the key out, nothing
so now the key is stuck in the car, and even if it wasnt stuck, i cant get the car to just fucking start.

and the little oil light is on, but we checked and the oil appears to be in there and fine.

but again
what the fuck do i know lol

please help me
:(

oh yea
its a 1991 hatch with a sr20det redtop, 86.5 pistons, and t28 turbo and other little knicks and nacks

essentially i need to know
why wouldnt it start to begin with
whats wrong with it now on top of that
and how do i get my key out/fix it

Unplug the connector that feeds the coil harness. Engine harness side connector

Check for 12 volts on the thick red/blue wire, or blue/red wire (always confuse them)

It is the thickest wire

If you dont have power there, start working your way back
