View Full Version : Removing rear suspension eccentric bolts
I have purchased SPC arms for my S14 and I want to replace the eccentric bolts in the rear subframe with normal, non-adjustable bolts. I may be worrying too much, but I feel that since the arms are adjustable the eccentric bolts are just something that can go wrong and throw off my alignment.
So far I have found S14 / S15 Suspension Bolts (http://www.ballerbolts.com/ni24resuboki.html) but it looks like overkill, does anybody know the bolt sizes and where to order regular bolts?
I know I could just remove the bolts and measure them but my local selection is terrible (no metric selection/higher grade bolts) and if possible I want to avoid the downtime.
Thanks,

just keep the bolts with your new arms they won't interfere with the alignment...they're hardened steel bolts so you don't want to just pick up a set at the local hardware store.

SPL eccentric lockout kit 240SX S14 - SPL PARTS (http://splparts.com/store/product-info.php?pid11.html)
Have em, love em, buy em.
Edit: I have had my alignment come out of alinement many times just from hard driving. This is definitely something I was happy to purchase.

Does it come with enough pieces to lockout both toe and camber arms? Or is each piece sold separately (Not too specific on SPL)?

Cool, nice tip. Didn't even know SPL made those.

Haha, I should have known to check SPL.
Now the only issue is that I am replacing 3 arms per side, The RUCA came with another link. I'll send an email to SPL to see if they know the size and will sell another pair.

Yup, I have those on my subframe too.
Way too legit :D
I would hate when I dipped a tire or something and you can totally tell the toe changed or something...
buy them, install them, smile.

I just bought the lock out kit as well. I hated the feeling of getting an alignment, only to have it go out on me the day after.
