Are ka alternators all the same?

Sry I know it's a total neeewb question but I searched a lil and couldn't find any definate answers.
I have a 97 s14 w/ ka and I need an alt. Just wanted to know if they are all the same kae, s13 dohc, s14 dohc since itl be easier 2 find s13

I would like to know as well. You could always check online parts stores for both and see if the model/part numbers match.

Alright I checked all the part numbers through rockauto.com to differenciate all motors and chassis and this is what I found:

1989-1990 Sohc and all 1991-1994 Dohc s13 alternators are the same part numbers
1995-1998 dohc s14 all have the same alternators with a slight variation in amps if the car is equiped with fogs but no physical difference

I havnt actually held S13 vs. S14 alternators up to eachother to see what the difference is but I'm assuming it's the bolt size that the harness attaches onto to alternator as engine/tranny harnesses have sum differences but bolt up should be the same

Anyways maybe someone can officially show pics and what not but hope this helps anyone out there in the meantime

You can also use a nissan quest alternator and it produces more amps than stock.
