I have a 95 240sx and im just wondering without spending a grand on coilovers would be the best bet.

w/o spending a grand? haha

very very slim pickings
TEIN is about it

everythign else (HKS, JIC, Apex'i, Kei Office, etc etc) is at least 1200+

TEIN is ok though.
tein Super Street (is that the name?) or Tein HA w/o pillowmounts

eitherway blah both are blah.

go w/ shock spring combo for like 700 its more in your budget
beucase you'll need an alignment too so that's another 50-90 dollars.

wow bud.
DO expect to get crap about your name if you signed up for zilvia in september, u have a 95 s14, and picked the atrocious name "HondaAccord" hahaha :D

On the suspension thing... you could also get AGX/Koni dampers with Ground Control coilovers for about $50-$100 more than a standard shock/spring setup, this would give you height adjustability as well... just thought I'd throw that out there :)

You have quite a few choices in the $1000 and under range. I'm not sure how far you want to track your car or whether you are planning any tracking at all, but all the coilovers in the sub $1000 range are for the most part entry level setups.

Here are some coilovers to look at:

tanabe pro s-oc- should be around $1000
Tein basic-around 800
Tein ss- around 1050
Tein ha-a little under 1000
Tein he-around 1100
Apexi ws dampener-under 1000
and if you are into drag racing jspec.com has a used set of nice hks drag dampeners for $1100 which is a steal.

If it were me making the choice, i'd probably go w/the tein he's or the hks drag dampeners.

I paid $600 for my Tein HR with pillow-ball mounts... Yeah, yeah, I know, Aaron... Used coilovers suck... But, they've worked for me so far :p :D.

Got Sileighty?

is that why you need to borrow my lugnut wrench to take your wheels off, so that you can adjust the coilover that suddenly dropped?? :p :p

All right guys thanks alot, theres alot more choices then i thought but i was thinking about tein's but i heard they rust. The thing about my name is that i used to have a 89 accord and it was a p.o.s and ill never buy a honda again so i thought it would be funny.

Coilovers arent durable. Spring + shock is durable. Go with spring + shock.

things only rust when you neglect to put anti sieze on them if done correctly you will have no problems with tiens they are some of the best equipment available IMHO if you can find a place that sells tanabe so-c's for the 240 you could get them i think they run less than 1000 or go for the tanabe ss which is around 1250 with pillowball mounts

spring and shock combos (buying separately vs buying a set of coilovers, which already come with springs and shocks) can be found at almost every online automotive sale/resale site... try:

http://www.bulletproofauto.com/
http://www.shopitout.com/
http://www.enjuku.com/
http://www.pdm-racing.com/
http://www.wholehyper.com/

-those are some sites that I've bought from and trust. :) There are more links in the "links" section of this wonderful site, too!

I think Phase2 is still having a sale on Apexi coilovers. Go check them out.

are you saying that it would be more worth it overall to get Tein He's??

I was looking into getting a set of HA's

Im becoming a suspension whore after taking my s13 to and autocross event.
Also arent the HE's more of a drift setup?
anyways that all

HA work great. i know some folks with them
i would get FLEX or HA if i was a street person (with some track time..like 1 or so a month) more then a track lover
