heres my problem, sr20det heats up and water boiles out of coolant resevior, car idles like crap, i did a (engine cold) cylinder compression test got, (from rad to firewall) 140,145,150,150, i was told sr's boost up and the head will move blowing into the coolant, therefor heating that bitch up boiling the coolant, any suggestions?

did you bleed the air out of the cooling system properly?

Try changing the radiator cap first...then double check if your coolant is circulating (might be a bad thermo too) before you do anymore troubleshooting.

im guessing the compression numbers sound ok?, i have to check, but i think i removed thermostat already, its been a sitting all winter, i cant say ive bled the system properly, but ive done the whole bleeder thing and ran tons of water/coolant through it.
also,... ive drifted the piss out of it to where the exhaust manifold was glowing red hot, it doesnt boil unless im revving it up, also running afc2, koyo rad, the car's fumes burn you eyes, but didnt always do that.. im gonna order a new rad cap for starters, i didnt want to tear it apart if its not the head gasket, its never been changed and this cars been around for a min, prob 5 years, it was babied till i got it..
thanks for the replies

Exhaust manifold glowing red means its either lean or the timing is too far advanced.
