Hey guys i am debating between 264 degree cams and 272 degree cams. My question for you is how much of a difference will I feel in both power and streetability (how the engine performs under daily driving) I am shooting for high HP numbers 400+ and I would also like to know if the higher degree cams will help that much more with gaining the HP. Thanks alot guys. \

ps. stage 2 hks cams :aw:

go w/ the 272
the 264 are nice but if you want high power, go 272. i know people who have used both and the 264 is GREAT for daily driveability. but if high HP, 272

ill get first hadn soon too :p haha

haha..yeah right. i havent even bought my engine yet..haha..you read the shortwriteup on jspec about the cams?

http://www.jspec.com/s14camshaft.html

All Tomei camshaft are special order only and take about 2-3 week to arrive. We gotten info from Tomei that all S14 SR20DET camshaft will work with S13, but not vice versa.

Tomei Type R cams 256 intake/ 256 exhaust degree with 11 duration(drifter choice for good low end torque and smooth power band)

250 intake/ 250 exhaust degree with 10 duration drop in no hassle cams(for someone who wants more hp with smoothest idle)

260 intake/ 260 exhaust degree with 11 duration good choice for someone who can't decide high or low.

270intake/270 exhaust degree with 12 duration. These are made for maximum hp gain(a must for drag racer or top speed racing) The highest duration you can go for street use without having idle problem.

i would GUESS about same. but im sure HKS are more expensive because..well, its HKS

quality? no idea. i havent heard bad things about the TOMEI and LOTS of folks in japan and the usa use it..i serioulsy wouldnt worry at all.

i would get tomei from Phase2 or jspec

actually tomei are more expensive but they 'custom' make the cams for your application
