Turbo Seals

I had my gt2871 for two years now just sitting on a shelf waiting for the motor to be finished. Every couple months or so, I poor some oil into the oil hole on the center section and rotate the turbine. The other day I noticed some oil on the turbine.

Will the internal oil seals fail over time with lack of use? I have been reading about peoples turbo's failing after sitting around for a long time. Should I be looking for a place that will replace the seal before I go to use it?
