Well, I just got some M-sport 50mm rear fenders the other day. Real happy i got them. On a good deal too. my first question is:
1.) Is it okay to Rivett these fenders over my current fenders or is that a dumb idea?

Another question I have is, WHERE IN THE WORLD can I find the JDM side skirts and rear Valences for the 240sx Hatch Back.

Strider,

I dont know about the riveting, but Jspec.com can get you basically any kit you want and any valences or sides you need. Ruf on this forum gets some crazy shit too!

question. did you get the REAL m-sports from japan or knockoff ones in USA. quality is EXTREMELY DIFFERENT!!!

anyways, yeha u can rivit them on. be sure to cut out part of your old fender (duh)

the rear valence and sideskirts you can get from JSPEC.com

they will look better molded in.. but rivets are functional.

well the guys says they are real, and he says he got packaging and all to prove it to me.

And of course I would cut off some of my fenders, I'm not THAT STUPID. heh.

hmmm. jspec. Is there any other place that can get them or would ahve them in stock. I don't want to have to wait to a couple months to get them.

Good things come to those that wait....

haha
the cutting fender comment, trust me, you'd be surprised hwo many people dont know that! haha

anyways,, 50mm is A LOT you know that right? that's like another stock wheel in your fender hahah
50mm is HUUUUUGE
for me to run a 9" +15 w/ 25mm wide fender im STILL using a 20mm spacer to keep it flushy

50mm no way for me! NO WAY. that's like a 10" w/ a NEGATIVE offset!!

anyways..i would get 30mm if you can. or 25/20mm whatever it is.

no one else really has the sideskirts/rear in stock. jspec gets them occassionally so you haveto check the site regularly and jump on it. i got mine from jspec. love em!

edit: can you post pics of the flares? i want to see the back of them..see if they are molded or laid. thx. see quality of them.

You'll find the sideskirts/rear valances at PDM. Great business to deal with. Don's the man!

what most people don't usually consider when putting on negative offset wheels and wide fenders is the horrendous change in suspension dynamics that comes with a fat, 10" wide wheel with -5mm offset.
... I'm not one who could tell you exactly what the negative effects would be, but I do know that there are som! :p so ... yeah. keep that in mind. Suspension geometry will be all fux0red up.

yeah but there are also ways to adjust and 'fix/correct' those issues. its all about suspension tuning

and i dont know enough about it :p haha

Strider, I assume you got the front wide fenders also? Since you go balls out for the rear fenders you 'll need at least 30mm front to balance it out. I saw an S13 with 50mm in the back and yes they are HUGE!

I recommend rivet them on, it makes it easier to remove/ replaced if they got damaged.
Molding gives a finished look but after a while the bondo will crack due to vibration.

My ideal set up would be 25mm front / 30mm rear:D

and i dont know enough about it :p haha Bah! Fix it... of course... after you get some $800 cusco front adjustable LCAs... do some custom fab work to your knuckle/spindles (uprights), and spend another grand just on adjustable arms front and rear! "hard core" suspension modifications are not for the faint of heart or light (empty) of pocket. (ha ha...)
Never mind.

yeah but neither are 10" neg offset wheels (on average)
so to afford those, the fenders and all that, you gotta have some money in the bank anyways....

edit: 800 for cusco flca? HAHAHA thats for suckers. ikeya formula adj. flca is now only around 500 USD!

Carisma•FR: No, I don't have the front yet, i'm still looking for some Nismo style side skirts and rear valence.

What size fenders up front do you guys think I should get, and would look good too?

I'm soo happy cause right now, my car is slowly coming along the way i want it. Rear fenders now, s13 front end convo and more to come heheh...

okay, another question. (as you can tell i'm trying to learn as much I can)

Are domestic steelies, wider then import ones? Reason for asking, I want to temporarily use some domestic ones to try and make my wheels look a little more flush with the fender till i get rims. Assuming I can put some wide A$$ tires on there.

Thanks again for being so patient with me and the input

not much and if they are the offset is the suck
do you realize HOW BIG 50mm is???

i hope so.

you would need mustang wheels (like the 18x9.5 +18 or something like that) AND a spacer bolt on..like 20mm at least! for the rear...

id rather have crushed fenders and impress girsl then wide fenders and SUNK wheels to look like a damn fool

as least w/ crushed you can say you were high speed drifting and hit a wall on purpose to avoid bambi!

wow...50mm...that is some crazy wide fenders...

and i agree that keeping it crumpled until you can make it look good with aftermarket stuff is smart...plus it does lead to fun stories...

and yeah...50mm wide with stock wheels...lol...maybe put some dualies on the rear...:D..

buy the SSRs from GSpeed

Specs: F- 16X11J, 4X114.3 PCD, -9 Offset. 270/590-16 tires. R- 16X11.5J, 4X114.3 PCD, -16 Offset. 290/625-16 tires.

$1,600, but probably not another set like them in the US.

The last thing i'd want is my rear fenders to become a homeless shelter.

Strider
10-09-2003, 05:36 PM
well, my fenders won't be a homeless shelter i have enough money to buy some nice rims. I was going to buy those rims from Gspeedcorp but now they gone.

Anyone have any other suggestions for some nice wheels that will feel my gap. Only thing is I WILL NOT spend more then 2g's on some wheels. With that kind of of spending cap I think I got some options
