SR wont start up every time

I have a s14 with a sr20det black top. It was originally an automatic. the problem im having is when i go to start it, it clicks over but doesn't crank. I have to keep turning the key until it would finally start. it also seems that the more times u start the car the easier it is to start it. but it never starts the first time. I tried looking online for similar problems but with no success. any help would be great thanks

Undo battery cables.

Undo all starter wires

Unbolt engine and battery chassis grounds.

Now clean and scuff all those connections including batt terminals.

Put everything back on and hook up battery.

Even iff all that is not needed its good maintainance.

Had same problem with my car last monrh this fixed it

Bad ignition switch? Loose ignition start wire?

Cool thanks. The battery was replaced by a smaller one, could this also be a problem.

look at the starter inhibitor relay
they tend to go bad after time
just cut it out and it should start fine
unless u wanna go to dealer an get over charged
