I need the oil pump passage oil o-ring and I want to try to get it locally. I have been searching and found that one from a 91 sentra ser or mid 90's g20 will work. I also found this part number from nissan 15066-77A00, that is suppose to be it. But when I search the two parts the pics show what looks to be a black rubber o-ring, not the orange/brown silicon o-ring. Can someone let me know what you used as a replacement?
Can another type of o-ring be used? Like Viton or something of that nature. And does the cross-sectional area have to be exact?
Thanks

The color of the o-ring doesnt matter as long as they are the same basic material. Use some sil-glide when installing it so itll last longer and seal way better.

It'll work
I used one off a FWD SR.
Dont put anything on the O-Ring unless the FSM recommends to

I was told the color does make a difference. The color signifies a different material (ie rubber, viton, silicon, etc). I was going to use parker silicon lube.

That part number crosses over to the RWD SR as well.
Look at it this way, Both SR's use Oil, Both O-Rings seal that passage way for oil. Therefore it will be fine to be used on your RWD SR
Its been 20 years since they designed that engine, so im sure they redesigned the oil seals Color doesnt always matter
