View Full Version : How is the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch?

I was planning on getting a OEM clutch from the dealer, but when I was at the parts desk today, I didn't like what I was hearing. They have what they call a "key value kit" which seems to be a half-ass clutch for $125 and the actual OE assembly that is $260... correct me if I'm wrong that that price seems a bit bogus. He didn't even look it up in the computer for me... anyway, getting away from the point.
I thought maybe I'd just go with an aftermarket clutch since I plan to try to preserve my KA24DE for a while if I can anyway to give me time to prepare for a swap. The Centerforce Dual Friction is selling on PDM-Racing.com for $236 + $26 for the T/O bearing...
What do you guys know about this particular clutch? Would you recommend it? Or what would you recommend for a similar price. My car has 175k on it, but seems to be running ok. Still, I don't want to go overboard on something that might not hang around that long.
Thanks in advance, Dave.

Last time I checked enjuku was offering free S&H on the Spec clutches. The stage 2 and 3 are nice and they come with the throwout bearing and alignement tool for around 300. A friend has spec stg 2 he daily drives and i drive it and feels very similar to stock, just holds better. I would go with the stage 3 a little more aggressive.

i have an RPS clutch 6 puck sports series i want to get rid of. for KA24DE
i want to sell it for $300 (retail is $375). you still need TO bearing. it has pressure plate and clutch only. i also have alignment too ill give you
http://www.turboclutch.com/
its the sport series page
then second section Sprung Hub SPORT
Nissan 240SX SS-17547-SP $375.00 300 15% (pedal pressure increase)
ILL VERIFY PART NUMBER TONIGHT if you want.
its BRAND NEW. i was going to install i but since going SR..no need to waste it because ill use it 10K miles..max.
ill give you a extra flywheel too if you want for resurface so you dont have to spend any down time
WHY RPS? the pads on the clutch, you can replace them fo CHEAP rather then buy a whole new clutch :) RPS is local in socali too, customer service rocks, give them a call if you have Qs.
ill get a RPS for my SR for sure :)

Hey, let me check out my budget and I'll let you know. I'll shoot you an email since it's quicker than going through here. Thanks for the sweet offer. I'm all about parts that can be easily rebuilt.

Good lookin' out man. You pretty much told me what I wanted to hear... I heard some good stuff about Spec Stage 2&3 and I haven't heard too many good things about the Centerforce clutch.

the centerforce dual friction sucks, believe me my brother use to have one and burned threw 2 in 5 months. They aren't good for every day driving. Get the ACT stage 2 clutch. Millions times better and reliable.

I think I forgot to mention I'm running off a stock KA and don't plan to upgrade it at all. I just need a clutch that will perform for me, take abuse from touge and some upcoming drift events until some time next year.
Does that change anything?

Go spec st 3. Will be great for touge and track time.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I might just take the RSP clutch off Aaron's hands.

Nopi has the Centerforce 1 Clutch (30% increase over stock) for $149.35 and the Centerforce II (60% increase over stock) for $201.95 and the Centerforce Dual Friction (90% increase) for $227.55.
I have the Centerforce DF clutch on my galant. It seems to hold 250+ hp w/o a problem.
