just wondering if anyone of you guys have glowshift gauges.. seems like a pretty good deal for 3 gauges and the pillar pod combo for 149.99
i was researching that a lot of ppl are into the mechanical gauges then the electronical. mechanical having a faster response and being more accurate.? i couldnt find any info on if the glowshift gauges were mechanical or electronical..
i just want to know what ppl think about this product

thanks

They have both but not in every gauge. I have them on my truck and the only problem I had with them was the temp sensor for my tranny took a shit, but that was only a $9 fix.

I actually just got my GlowShift Oil Pressure Gauge installed today! I used to have some Autozone mechanical gauge, which I hated. The plastic oil line would always crack and leaked oil everywhere! The GlowShift gauges come with an Electronic Sender Unit which in my opinion is a million times better and safer!

For the price, you can't beat them!

what other gagues are you using other then the boost and oil pressure?

if im wanting to go with 3 gauges what other two do you recommend other then the boost gauge?

Water Temp, definitely helps. And the nice thing is they're affordable so you can actually have a decent looking gauge setup.

oil pressure? or oil temp gauge?

Oil Pressure and Water Temp. You only need oil temp if you're making insane power and your oil gets really hot! Hahaha

Anyways, I have a Boost Gauge, Oil Pressure Gauge, and Water Temp gauge. I don't really need anything else...

I have Transmission temp, Fuel pressure, and Vacuum. I really like them. I have the tinted 7 color series by the way. My friend has the exact same ones but in white. He likes them too. I was going to get them for my s13 since they are priced nice, but I had to jump on my BLM's for the price.

I was looking into a new tach, and was thinking of giving the Elite one a shot. Mine is off and I can't adjust it any more.

wow. 16? well try to make it real clean!! lol dont beat it up like other teens out there! it was so hard for me to find a real clean shell, cuz im in dallas and most of them are all already beat up, un finished projects, or has atleast 3 different paint colors! haha is300 is my 5th car in the past 7 years.. was gonna settle with it. looked for it about 9months and found a manual.. but im now i wanna keep the is300 stock as dd and start on this project and do a rb20. how much did you do to your car? any pics??

I have the tinted series and I LOVE IT! And yeah I know, I've been doing my best. First time on the track, I managed to clip a nice stack of tires and mess up my fender a little, but I'm planning on either getting a clean silvia conversion, or leaving the pop ups and getting a cheap kit to beat up on the track so i don't ruin my stock aero anymore....

It's changed a little since then... I have a completely different headlight set up that I got from my friend Alex. Also, the hood is back to matching red, along with the roof, and the rims are painted Metallic Gold.

You can see how the fender is a little dented, and the fender to bumper line isn't very clean but it's not a big deal... I go to the track almost every weekend so what do you expect? :)

And as of right now, I have redtop Sr20, upgraded ISIS turbo, megan turbo exhaust, megan street coilovers, corbeau bucket seats, sparco harnesses, A/C vent gauges, and welded diff. I plan on doing LOTS more! :)

wow.. not bad at all!!
in the end my finished prject will be a sil80!
s13 front end conversion will be clean as hell!!! but i wont be taking it to the track.

Thanks man! And that's awesome! I love the sil80's, I'll probably end up doing that as well...
But yeah, as of right now gauge wise, I have the AEM Tru Boost (boost gauge and controller in one), GlowShift Oil Pressure Gauge, and some cheap mechanical water temp gauge. I'll be getting another GlowShift Water Temp gauge to match pretty soon, but it turns out my exhaust manifold is completely fried and all the gaskets are blown so that comes first.

Not a bad gauge at all. I have a 2 friends that have been using them for a while. I am currently funning the elite 10 series and I like them alot. The full sweep on turn on is pretty cool too. Yes a little ricey, but Im going back to rice JDM is over rated now adays :p

My friends sender in boiling water only showed 198 degrees. 14 degrees off. Got a replacement and it was showing 206 on replacement gauge. Still 6 degrees off. And my other friends gauge shows 130-140 degrees all the time while ECT shows 160-170. That there is 30 degree difference. Maybe my friends seem to be getting unlucky.

Prosports are like the cheap defi, accurate and cheap. Not bad: just throwing that out there

I never had a problem with glowshift. I bought some used 7 color series from someone who had them a while before me and the still work great.

Although Defi is badass. I just cannot spend 1k on 3 gauges and link.

Yeah, to get away with inexpensive gauges, I would definitely go either GlowShift or Prosports, as mentioned by JuMPiiN

Why not look into STRI or SGEAR gauges

STRI
STRi Racing Meters (http://www.phase2motortrend.com/strame.html)

SGEAR
SGEAR : Full Electronic Stepping Motor Gauges (http://www.phase2motortrend.com/sgfuelstmoga.html)

I run electronic prosports, boost, oil pressure, egt, a innovative wideband, and just ordered a water temp. All are pretty damn accurate, easy to install and look badass in blue. For all gauges it cost me about 450-500. Mainly the wideband costing 220.

I currently own 6 of the glowshift elite series gauges, and i must say i love them very much! best bang for your buck IMHO...these gauges have all the great features you would find in other top brand gauges such as stepper motor movement, peak recall function, and low/high visual/audible warning points...they also change to 10 different colors (i no a lil ricey lol) to match your preferences.

i paid about 350 for all six (3 60mm boost, oil press, and water temp) and (3 52mm oil temp, volt, and air/fuel ratio)
