Hello,

So I have a '90 with a SOHC that we rebuilt a couple years back. Drove it for a while, but got a new ride about 6 or 7 months ago. Since I got the new ride, the car has just been sitting in the back of the drive way.

Before I stopped driving it, the car studdered on occasion. Only occasionally at first, and towards the end it was pretty bad, but otherwise was completely driveable and sounded fine outside the wasted exhaust. Eventually the idle went all the hell. Would start fine and wouldn't die, but the idle was all over the place. Parked it and for about 6 months in this condition.

Went back and replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, and 02 sensor the other day. Car starts and runs fine, but now has a crazy sound like a diesel. Obviously it often means the top is not getting enough oil, but the oil looks fine and it idles/drives near perfect. I have also read spun bearing, but I don't understand how that could happen while sitting? I essentially never drove this car hard after I rebuilt it, it was just a cheap daily driver. There is a bit of carbon smelling smoke coming out, but I expected that after sitting for so long after running like it did. No signs of oil or coolant from the smell/look of the smoke. Figure the build up just needs to be blown out.

Like I said before, the exhaust is wasted but it appears to be good down until the cat. I checked the common loose/missing exhaust mani bolts, and they all seemed to be good.

Any one have any ideas of what else could have caused this while it sat, or by something I did when I replaced the plugs, 02 sensor, and fuel filter?

Thanks for any help, need to sell this car in the next month and I don't want to sell it cheap if its an easy fix.
