So after reading up and talking to several people, i'm kind of lost what I should do to remedy my VTC rattle issue. Mines started to rattle not out of typical nowhere like most s14 motors but came after I had my cams installed with my aftermarket valvetrain which is also a normal occurance after using a stronger valvetrain apparently? Would it be useful to try and replace the sprocket? This noise is no annoying. Let me know if anybody has ran into similar issues and has gotten it fixed.

Put a regular intake cam gear, and bolt on it, and dont' worry about the VTC.
PS: Search 'VTC Rattle' you may get a few results (sarcasm, you'll get a ton of results)

It sounds like the VTC gear was on it's way out to begin with and adding bigger cams just sped the process up. You can replace the cam gear if you'd like, but I would oh replace it with a brand-new one to avoid the rattle again.

I'm wondering if it would do the trick though. Because like I said, it seems the 2 factors that trigger the noise are enough high mileage motors to trigger the noise OR the upgrade of aftermarket valvetrain. Martin at RS enthalpy confirmed this with me and I also found this link which explains it pretty well:
Brett Dempsey Engineering - Nissan VTC Sprockets (http://bde-performance.com/vtc.htm)
There has also been other threads which say an earlier zenki solenoid does the trick. But most of these fixes seem to be with owners with OEM valvetrain setups. These fixes might not work since I have had this issue ever since I upgraded to BC springs/retainer and Tomei cams, which seems to be the cause of my noise. It's driving me nuts. Can anyone with the same situation as me have a confirmed fix and their own experience to get rid of the rattle?
I would seriousl consider purchasing the BDE sprocket but it seems like another shop pitching an idea and coming out with no product.. typical

I had Toda 264 10.5mm cams and Supertech DVS on my S14 motor and had no rattles at all... So saying that it happens on upgraded valve train/cams really has no bearing with me. Your sprocket was going bad/out before you upgraded.

It could be the Gear, or it could be the Solenoid also. Prolly not your Vavletrain. I have upgraded Valvetain and mine was making the noise and I Replaced it with an S13 Cam gear and the noise went away. A new gear is good chunk of change and will prolly go back out in another 40-50K miles. I say put an S13 cam gear on there.

AHA. I finallly found my solinoid i used to fix my VTC.
Call infiniti and give them part 23796 6P00A
Thats for a bolt on replacement. The first thing i noticed about the replacement was how much BIGGER it was. It was longer and seemed like it was beefyer.
I learned of this from a guy in indonesia that said thats what his friends have found to work...
They are expensive and I have no clue what they come off of.
I paid $240 at norwood infiniti....
And now i find it online for 90$
