S14 SE - Yes.
S14 base - No. Available as an option...either/or.
S13 - Unsure, probably yes...
Look on www.socal240sx.org for the specs...

That's only on S13's. all S14 diffs are smooth and all S13 diffs have fins.
On S13s, ABS does not mean VLSD... however, I have heard (conflicting reports) that if it (S13) had Super-HICAS, then it also had VLSD.
So quick answer to your question is... no.

socal240sx.com. Look for the Specs scans of the S13 and S14. Very useful.

The only S13s in the USA that came with VLSD were the Hatchback HICAS models. No other ones had VLSD.
I don't know about S14. Not my chassis. :)
Easiest solution... jack the car up and spin the wheels :)
Good luck

i believe it does, the reason asking is i found a 1996 se in the junkyard with abs, but the diff has no stickers or anything.. i would spin the tires, but theres no tires or axels, so i think im just gonna take my chance with it..
thanx guys

no sticker? no VLSD
DONT take the risk unless your paying 30 bucks (how much a open diff is worth)
doesnt need axles or tires.
simple turn drive shaft
if the output shafts spin different way, then its open diff
output shafts=the things coming out sides of the diff

I have a 1993 SE fastback with the original window sticker and according to it VLSD was a standalone option, though not equipped for my car :wtc:
It was also standard on the Hicas equipped models.
EDIT:: I just checked the sticker and apparently that's not where I read it as I couldn't find it mentioned (anyone want to know what it cost new in 1993?). I have the original dealer brochure from 1993 as well, it might have been mentioned there.
