Hi All,

Having a track day on Saturday October 25. Please keep comments and posts at the Altimas Board, so I don't have to check multiple sites to organize this thing.

Thanks!

FWIW I've heard nothing but bad things about the Holtville track... crappy asphalt that's not level. Just a friendly notice. Buyers beware!

It's an airport runway. It used to be an Air-Force training field. If you look on the ground, you'll still see huge anti-aircraft shells (50 Caliber I think) all over the gravel next to the track. It's pretty funny.

It's concrete, and not asphalt. It's not as rough as people think. Think of it like a Street-Course in Miami or Long Beach that CART runs on. Definitely not the smoothness of Buttonwillow, and Fontana, but good enough to race on.

Very little tire-wear.

You guys need to talk to Pete....addicted2sp33d, he is the one setting this up for us...keep in mind....Middle of nowhere...HOT... and it is a privatly owned track, and tracks cost A LOT to keep up, and the track isn't asphalt, it is concrete. also, there was a fundraiser not too long ago to renovate the track...so it SHOULD be in better shape by now...if it ever was in bad shape. Hope that helps you guys out! ;) and hope to see you there!
