I know it depends on s13/s14, option packages, bodystyles, etc, but what would, say, a base model s13 fastback pull on a skidpad? Better yet, is there a table somewhere on the web with figures for various cars and how many lateral g's they can pull?
Just curious ;)

Bone stock 89 S-13 fastback with Teardrops and 205/60/15's was tested at 0.83g when they first came out.

I read that the s14's pulled 0.96g stock. Is there that large of a difference between the s13 and s14 or is my information incorrect?
Just don't forget that slalom speed is just as important for a well handling car :)

D'oh. I should have known to search. Of course, I found this on the last page :bash:

There is no single indicator of a cars performance, just a bunch of little onces. Honestly, I was just curious how my s13 ranks in against the competition. I already it's slow in a straight line ;)
I think the S14 got .89 though.

tires can make a really big difference in the numbers, so if the S14 pulled a .90 and the S13 pulled a .87 I would look first at the tires before anything else.

Thats a good point. A 400 treadwear tire vs a 200 treadwear tire would make one hell of a difference. Also, to a lesser extent, whether the proper tire pressures were used for whatever tire they were using.
