Here is my car info

97 S14 with Moonroof , bolt on cage
(Drain plug under the car is "unplugged)

Every time when rains heavy I get massive amount of water in my front and back of driver seat.
Just to let you know there is lot of rain in Portland OR

I tried to inspect where the leak comes from.. every time when I get leak..
I just could not get any clues... I RTV all the holes to seal it including Rollcage bolt. but still leaks...

So I searched..

All the thread about same situation was moonroof drain hose being clogged.. I stripped the interior to see if that was the issue, but it was not.
I had someone sprayed water while I was in the car without interior to see the leak.
Then found the leak from both side taillights not the trunk one. some of water goes to inside of trunk where spare tires at, and some goes over to where factory floor jack is.

My question
Could the water which goes into side of car by rear quarter panel (where the floor jack is) cause leak to driver side ??????

I noticed there are holes by door steps which I guess leak is coming from...
wonder if that holes connected to trunk side ??

I have been looking to fix this exact situation. I don't have a cage and I have the same problem. I'll let you know when I look into it more this weekend.

I don't know if this work for s14 but i had the same problem with my s13 awhile back. Look under your left fender in front and look to the right, there should be rubber wiring harness plug going into into your inside. Heavy rain can cause the water to spill or leak a lot through the hole, hence you get a very wet carpet or puddle of water inside. Check if the rubber plug is worn, and if it is you might need to replace it.

I got this suggestion from NWN and I am going to check my under fender interior harness is...
I will update soon

i get water driverside in my s13 coupe also. i kinda shrug it off...ill fix it eventually but it doesnt constantly rain in socal.

i noticed how bad it was the last time it rained, i drove through a mini pond off water that gathered cuz the storm drains suck in garden grove. im gonna guess it came in from the door?

i also have had water gather in both trunk pockets in the rear, i pulled out a rubber grommet so the water would drain out. hopefully that doesnt cause more of a problem by allowing water in haha..

i half ass shit like this so dont follow my lead. but i would love to hear some input

So I put all the stuff back in and I checked under the fender..

Yep ! that rubber thing covers hole where the harness is ripped...
Tons of water could get in very easily...

I did not have replacement of rubber so I patched some "home made" stuff..
should be good for now... I guess I just have to wait for rain and see how it goes...

Thanks for the advice on those...I'm going to check mine this weekend as well to test it out...I noticed that is where mine dripped from as well during rain...

Haha...I know I have before and couldn't get it to leak in there, but I didn't blast directly into that area where the rubber seal is. Now that K style has had a similar situation and noticed it needed to be fixed, I'm sure mine is the same thing.

Still gotta fix seal on taillights... I am going to autozone later to get weather strip to fix that problem.

my car should be water proof after that !!!!

Soooo, did this fix it?

Mine is in an s13 but does the EXACT same thing...

I have no sunfroof. And it starts behind me seat and by the end of the night there is a puddle in the front too.

fucking rage.
